Piper is the only one who visits me in the infirmary. Besides our adventures on the Argo II, fighting giants, and defeating Mother Earth, I don't know her that well. It's not that Piper's not my friend. She is! I just thought that maybe Annabeth, or Tyson, or even Jason might come to see how I'm doing.
It's not like I'm dying! I just have a black eye. Food was outlawed in the cabin after that incident last year, and since I have to put a steak to my eye in order to quicken the healing process, Will put me under house arrest. In the infirmary.
"How do steaks even help?" I ask Piper when she visits.
"I don't know if they do, but they make you look funny!" She exclaims.
"Ya, thanks a lot." I mutter, smiling slightly, but trying to sound annoyed.
"So the reason I'm here is-"
"Wait, I'm confused! You didn't come to visit me and see how I'm doing? Now that I'm fatally injured, stuck in the hospital, and left in the hands of the merciless Apollo kids?"
"No." Piper says, keeping a straight face, her voice monotone.
"Oh."
"Were you expecting Annabeth to come in with flowers and blue candy, shower you with kisses, wait on you hand and foot, and stay by your side every second until you heal from a punch in the face which you earned and deserved?"
"Maybe a little..." I admit.
"You of all people should know that Annabeth wouldn't do that for one million dollars." Piper scolds. "Were you expecting Frank and Hazel to paper-mâché a giant pop up 'Get Well Soon!' card and have everyone at Camp Jupiter sign it?"
"No!" I lie.
"Good, cause the only message I have for you is this." She holds out a sticky note with loopy handwriting scrawled across the bottom. It reads:
Percy. Help! A hippocampus got caught in a fishing net in the canoe lake! Hurry!
I can't tell if the last line is "Hurry!" or "Huffy!" but I stand up, sprint outside, and hurl myself into the lake. Water forms a mushroom cloud around me. I breath in, letting water fill my lungs, and blow it out, unfazed. I'm vaguely aware of Piper laughing like a hyena above the surface and Will Solace running from the infirmary screaming something about a doctors orders and steak juice on the floor.
I look down and a red headed naiad pops up, bubbles streaming from her mouth, arms waving wildly. Follow me she says. I nod and swim after her, taking big breaths of murky lake water.
Sure enough, a fishing net has entrapped a sea creature. The glistening scales of the fish/horse hybrid are barely visible. I can hear whinnies of agony, the sound waves slowly tearing through the water so they can land in my ear.
Do you have scissors? the naiad asks.
I shake my head, no. She squints at me.
That's why we summoned you! So you could cut the net! What other use would you be? I squirt bubbles from my nose, an indication of speechlessness.
Well go get scissors, Land boy! The redhead barks as she goes to comfort the struggling hippocampus. Help master. It neighs. This girl is annoying!
I laugh, though it just results with a stream of surface swimming bubbles being blown from my nose. I clamp my hand over my mouth, hoping that the girl doesn't understand horse speak, and go fetch scissors.

Sup peoples! It's lucy! Two chapters in one evening! I'm on fire, Super Lucy Mcshizzle! Okay, maybe it's only cool when Leo does it. Okay, maybe not even then. Anyway, I've realized that I've promised a Percy Jackson/Hunger games crossover and there hasn't been any games yet! I want to get through a couple more chapters first, but I promise the games are coming! So stay tuned! Thank you for your time
