  Morgan's POV

I stare at my wings in the mirror with mixed feelings. I can't live like this much longer- the rope burns, the anger, the guilt, the self hatred.

I pick up a knife sitting on my desk and examine the blade. Slowly, I take a handful of my right wing and I hold the blade up to it. Just as I'm about the slice into the feathers, I stop suddenly. I put the knife down and flop onto my bed, face down.

This isn't fair. I should be in there with Audrey. I wonder how she's holding up. Axels probably taking good care of her.

I hear a pounding at my door.

   "Morgan!"

It's my dad. I sigh, then yell back.

"I'm almost ready, just give me a minute!" I hear him walking away. Quickly, I bind my wings down and slip my  gray, button up shirt on. Time for another day at work.

"Morgan, I'd like you to meet Victor,"

A guard introduces me to a boy about my age. He's very tall, tan, with dark brown eyes and unkempt black hair. He looks down at me.

"We think you two would work well together," the guard continues.

Victor winks at me. I feel like I'm going to puke. I glare at him and listen to the guard.

"So, Morgan, you'll be working as you normally do, but Victor will be helping you out."

"I'm capable of doing this on my own, I don't need his help." I snap. Victor smirks.

The guard ignores me and walks out.

    Great.

Victor leans on the wall and starts to check me out. Frustrated, I walk out of the room and head to the corridor to see Audrey. It's not long before Victor is walking behind me. I walk faster, and he speeds up. I turn around and face him.

"Hey, how about you back off before you realize that you have absolutely no chance with me. Okay?"

Victor stands, frozen, irritated. He nods slightly, adjusts his backpack and walks thr opposite direction. I head over to Audrey and Axel's cell.

             Audreys gone.
