Morgan's POV

I reach the building and I start to wonder if this is actually a good idea. I shrug, hold the notebook tightly, and open up the door with my spare key I keep in my pocket. I lock the door behind me.

I navigate my way through several dark hallways avoiding security cameras to the best of my ability.

I finally reach Audrey and Axel, and my heart is racing. They're both fast asleep. Axel is sprawled out on the floor, snoring and occasionally tossing and turning. I try not to laugh. Audreys curled up in a ball in the corner. She's so adorable.

Axel stirs a little, then slowly sits up, yawning. He's not surprised to see me. "What's up?" He whispers. I shrug. "I had to go to this party so Victor would keep his mouth shut about the notebook." I say, holding up the book. Axel smirks "You need to be more careful, M."

"Yeah, yeah." I sigh, clicking the pen and trying to write something. I start to get annoyed with myself. Everything I think of sounds so corny. I scribble something down and slide the book through the bars before I anger myself any further. Axel takes the book and sets it next to Audrey then turns to me.

              "You two are so cute."

I laugh quietly then turn my attention to Audrey. I see the numbers branded on her wrist and this overwhelming feeling of sadness takes over. That should have been me. Axel reaches through the bars and puts a hand on my shoulder. We sit in silence for several long minutes until Audrey breaks it.

She starts to shake and hyperventilate.  Axel gives me a panicked look. "Wake her up!" I say, my hands gripping the bars. Axel grabs her arm and starts to shake her. Audrey's eyes open wide and she sits up suddenly, backing further into the corner, still shaking. She glances over at me and quickly crawls over to the bars. I reach through the bars and wrap them around her.

We sit like that for at least an hour. Axel is asleep again and Audrey is close to falling asleep. "I can't do this anymore." she whispers  "Yes you can, you're strong. And I'm getting you out of here." I try to reassure her. She sniffs. "I know you will," she says, smiling a little.

               There was another long silence.

She turns a little so she's facing me. She sticks both hands through the bars and places them softly in mine.

I try to break the silence.

"So, when you're out of here, what do you want to do?" I ask. She grins.

"I want to find my friends. Then... I don't know. Get as far away as I can from here." she replies. I pause.

"Maybe we can run away together."

I say. Her smile gets even bigger.

            "I'd love to." she giggles.

Another silence. It's starting to get a little annoying. We make a long eye contact.

"I... I should probably get going." I say. She looks disappointed. "Let's keep writing, okay?" I suggest. She nods as I stand up. She stands at the same time. "

"I don't know when I'll be able to do this again." I sigh. "It was nice." Audrey replies. I nod. "Well, I'll see you tom-"

She grabs the collar of my sweater, pulls me against the bars and kisses me. At first I'm taken by surprise, but within seconds, I close my eyes and lean in closer to her. My heart starts the pound and I feel myself blushing.

She lets me go and smooths out my sweater. "Sorry... I just-" she sighs. I smile and kiss her back gently.

"I really have to go now," I say shakily. She nods and sits down in the corner. We make eye contact one last time, then I slip back through all the rooms and hallways, then head home.
