Nadia's P.O.V.
I came up with the most stupid plan ever. I would make Percy proud. I flew down over the hellhound pack and screamed, "Hey pooches!" I shot down a few to get their attention. It worked.
They snarled up at us. Hurricane snorted, apparently unaffected by the hounds. I laughed nervously, "Ok, that worked," Hurricane snorted. I translated as: What now Sherlock? "You're with me right? One snort no two snorts yes," He snorted once. I flicked his ear, causing him to snort a second time, "Thanks for the support," Making him go lower, I jumped off and landed on one of the hellhounds. It imediately started bucking like a rodeo horse. I stabbed it. I fell to the ground and screamed in frustration. Grape vines appeared and the hellhounds were tied up and on the ground.
"When Chiron said you needed a new challenge after taming Hurricane, he didn't mean hellhounds," said Nico, who had materialized beside me.
"I was bored," I smiled, "Did you do the plant thingy?"
"Yeah," he said flatly, "'cause Hades is the god of grapevines, and I'm a son of Hades,"
"Sorry," I muttered, "I'm kind of new to this,"
"It was you Grape Girl,"
"Grape Girl? Really?"
"It's better than Death Boy,"
"No it's not! It sounds lame. I mean really? Grape Girl. It sounds like I'm the street girl that sells grapes," I snapped.
We launched into an argument about what nickname was lamer. Jeremie, Grace, Angelle and Adam joined us. We set camp and I took first watch.
I stroked the leopard's coat and hummed to it. I decided to name it Tommy. Tommy purred loudly as I watched the few stars that lit up the sky. The past two weeks I had grown really close to Percy and Annabeth. I wanted nothing more than to make them proud. I thought back to what Percy had said to me.
"You stood up to Mr. D. For that you either have to be brave or stupid. I'm guessing you're the first one. Being a demigod isn't fun. Most of the times it gets you killed in painful ways and you just need to deal with it. Some of us live to a decent age. I think you're one of those demigods. Don't give up. We're a family. We can't give up on family, no matter how tempting they make it," he smiled.
