Eurus' P.O.V.

I gave Ariadne my most charming smile, "Lady Ariadne, have I told you how genuinly fabulous you look today?"

She crossed her arms and frowned, "Eurus, where did you take my step-daughter?"

"Well, I took her through various gardens, the fountains..." I listed the places and counted them with my fingers, "Where else did we go Nadia?"

"We went to Hephestus' workshop," she brought out the bracelet I got for her, "he really is a genious,"

"Nadia," she pulled her into her chest, "You had me worried,"

"Why? I was with Eurus the whole time. Didn't you send him to keep an eye on me while you were gone?" Nadia asked. I am dead...

"No, I sent Flora the wood nymph to do that," she held her at arms distance and looked seriously worried. Nadia looked confused. Beautiful, delicate, and deadly, but really confused.

I cleared my throat, "Lady Ariadne, may I talk to you for a second privately?"

"Come Eurus," she motioned to me, "Nadia go to the palace please,"

"Yes Lady Ariadne," she nodded and glowered at me. I whispered in her head. I didn't...

Her glare deepened and to my surprise she answered, No, I trusted you Eurus, I trusted you and you lied to me.

"Lady Ariadne, please understand that I told Nadia that you had sent me," I said straight off. She raised a hand for silence.

"Eurus, I guessed that much," she frowned, "If you want to be near my daughter you ask me first,"

"Your daughter?" I asked.

"Yes. Her mother died recently in an accident at a party. She has no family that will take her. I took the name of Muriel Devin and am officially adopting Nadia. Don't tell her anything, please, it might crush her," she twisted her wedding ring around her finger, "The last thing I want is to hurt Nadia,"

"Don't worry Lady Ariadne," I bowed slightly, "I will be a perfect gentleman to your daughter,"

"Thank you Eurus," she patted my shoulder rather awkwardly "Thank you," I smiled slightly and nodded.

Nadia's P.O.V.

I sat in the bed of my temporary room and fingered the bracelet Eurus had given me. I pressed the gem on it and the bracelet grew into a shield. I remembered Sebastian talking about a wristwatch doing the same thing. I pressed it again and it shrunk back to a bracelet. Ariadne stepped into the room and smiled, "Hi, can I come in?"

"Yes, of course," I motioned for her to come in.

"I'm sorry for losing my temper. I was just very worried about you,"

"Your motherly instinct kicked in, no need for apologies,"

Ariadne sat beside me and pressed me to her side. With a sigh, she said, "Nadia, there is something you need to know..."

I hugged myself and muttered, "No, no, no, this can't be happening. It can't be true,"

I began rocking slightly and Ariadne hugged me, "I'm sorry Nadia, but things are as I said them,"

"No, she can't be dead. I refuse to accept that! My mother cannot be gone!" My mother can't be dead. She simply can't. She's all I have left... "I can't- what am I going to do?! I lost Bash I can't lose my mother too! My mother cannot be dead!" I began to cry like a kid again. Ariadne hugged me and said the same rubbish that everyone said when Bash died. "She can't be dead..."

Grace's P.O.V.

I looked at my mom in Chiron's old computer screen and asked, "How did it happen?"

"They say she drowned," my mom wiped away a tear, "She tripped and fell into the pool. Hit her head and couldn't swim,"

"Does Nadia know yet?" This will crush her...

"I'm not sure. Will you tell her?" My mom always looked out for Nadia since her mother was so absent. She was like a second daughter, and my sister. It worried me.

I nodded, "Yeah, I'll tell her,"

Jeremie's P.O.V.

I almost choked, "She's dead?" Hebe nodded, "So young..."

"Is that how you knew?" I asked.

She nodded, "Yes. She lived for her youth. Nadia got her craziness from her,"

"Thanks Mom, I'll tell her if she doesn't know," I slung my bow over my shoulder and sighed. Hebe kissed my forehead and smiled.

Nadia's P.O.V.

I mounted Hurricane. Ariadne squeezed my hand, "Dear, you don't have to go,"

"Lady Ariadne," I smiled sadly, "I have to. I wasn't there for my mother then. I have to be there now," She nodded and walked back.

I kicked Hurricane's sides and we flew to my mother's funeral. I landed in my front yard and ran to the back. I took in all my family sitting there and Aunt Stella at the front saying something.

"No," I snapped. All heads snapped back at me. A few great aunts burts into tears. "No," I repeated, "I won't allow this. If anyone has to speak, it'll be me," No one argued. I was biting back tears as I took the podium. "I know none of you aproved of the way my mother lived. I know no one really likes me because I 'ruined' my mother's future. I know most of you are here because you have to as family. I know all of you will begin all the 'I'm so sorry' story after this is over. And please, know that I don't care. None of you know what I'm going through right now because you aren't me. My mother was not perfect. She was far from it. But she was my mother. She carried me in her womb for nine months. She brought me up, she took care of me, she taught me what I know about life. I know she made mistakes, but you can't give up on family, no matter how tempting they make it. My mother never gave up on me. I ask you to not give up on me, for my mother's sake,"

Aunt Stella caught my eye and glared. Beside her, Uncle Donny, her husband, nodded in aproval. Some people were crying. Others were outraged. I turned my back on them and whispered to my mother's dead body, "I love you Mom," I made a circlet of grapevines and set it on her head. With tears stinging at the back of my eyes, I walked out of my house and flew back to my new home... Camp Half-Blood.
