It Was a Dark and Stormy Night
Grizz:
It was a dark and stormy night, a young girl was walking alone down a desolate street.
The rain has been falling steadily all night and it was getting worse. The girl was soaked to the bone and needed to get out of the rain.GJ:
Then she saw a house.
"Thank goodness!" She said out loud. But at a second glance, her relief is chilled by the look of the place.Ryan:
It's dark. Only a lone street lamp casts a dim light on the sad features of the house. It looks as if no one has lived here for many years. The windows were broken. An old, ripped curtain blows from a third-story window.Ivory:
Now, the girl remembered where she was.
This house was from her childhood
Neighborhood kids talked of ghosts, from a family long dead, walking through the house at night.Zac:
The front yard is tangled with overgrown weeds and vines. A pathway lined with broken stones leads to an old house. The girl follows it.Zoe:
As she walks down the sidewalk, tree branches seem to lean into her path.
They grab at her hair and clothes.
Spider webs stretched across the branches got caught in her eyes and mouth. As she wipes them away, she hears something behind her.Liam:
What is it?! The girl turned around.
Nothing. "It was probably just a cat," she said to herself. Although, she doesn't believe it.Yasmin:
Just as she steps onto the sagging front porch, the door creaked open.Suddenly Grizz stopped the story and started to cry saying, "I'm sorry kids, but I can't do this anymore!" "Daddy, what's wrong?" Ivory asked. "The story is good so far!" "It's not that, sweetheart," said Grizz. "It's just that I hurt your Mom!" Grizz went to his bedroom and closed the door. The cubs heard Grizz crying. "I've never seen Dad this upset since Burrito Boy closed down," said April. "We need to call Mom and tell her that Daddy is crying," said Eliza. GJ grabbed the phone and called his mom.
"Hi, Mom! We're fine! Everything's fine well except for Dad. He's crying in his room. Mom, he's sorry for what happened. No, he didn't put me up to this! Please Mom could you talk to him? Okay, Mom. See you tonight. Love you too bye." GJ sadly hung up the phone. "What did Mom say?" asked Ivory. "Mom's thinking of getting a divorce," said GJ.
Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Grizz was looking at his and Shelley's wedding album and started to reminisce about their wedding. There was a picture of Grizz feeding some cake to Shelley. There was a picture of Shelley shoving the cake in Grizz's face. As Grizz was flipping the pages, he found his wedding vow.
The vow read:
My dearest Shelley,
You are the best thing that ever happened to me and I will always love you no matter what. You are my first, my last, my everything. I love you with all my heart and soul and I will be there for you forever and always. I love you, Shelley. After reading the vow, Grizz went to the living room and saw the cubs sitting on the couch.
"What's going on in here?" asked Grizz. "GJ called Mom," said Zac. "Why did you do that, GJ?" "I told you that this was between me and your mom!" "Did it ever occurred to you that it's hurting us?" asked GJ. "This has nothing to do with you pipsqueaks!" shouted Grizz. "You know what, Dad? Mom was right about you!" said GJ shoving Grizz. "What did she say?" asked Grizz. GJ kept quiet. "GJ, what did your mother say?" Grizz asked sternly. "She said that you're a worthless Dingle!" GJ cried shoving his dad. Grizz went to the bedroom grabbed his cellphone, and texted Shelley a message saying:"So I'm a worthless Dingle huh, Shelley? That's funny cause you married me so that makes you a Dingle too! Doesn't it, sweetheart? It was just a stupid punch bowl! Get over it! You know what, Shelley? You're a selfish brat!"
As Grizz pressed send on his cellphone, he waited for Shelley's response. Five minutes later, Shelley texted back saying:
"Grizz, you're such a Dingle!
This isn't about the punch bowl! This is about you putting your paws on me! You viciously attacked me! You hurt me and now it's my turn to hurt you! If you ever put your paws on me again, I will maul you so bad that not even your brothers won't recognize you! After reading Shelley's message, Grizz deleted it and cried himself to sleep. As Grizz fell asleep, he began to have a bad dream. A dream is so bad that he couldn't wake up.
