The hour dragged on. You tried to pay attention in class, but you couldn't get his eyes out of your mind. They were so.. perfect. You grimace as that word forms in your mind, and try your best to shove it back into the black depths it came from.
After trying to permanently glue your eyes to the window, you finally gave in and gave one more peek back. Jasper was looking down at this paper, with an expression similar to Alice when you had handed her the pencil earlier. But.. more intense? You couldn't put your finger on it. Edward glanced up, looking right at you. Once again your eyes widened, and you quickly averted your gaze. How did he know you were looking back?
As class ended, you gathered up your stuff in a rush. The tension was unbearable, and you wanted out as fast as possible. It seemed though, that Jasper beat you to it first. He was out the door in a second. Edward however, lingered. Right as you turned around to walk away from your desk, you found him blocking your path to the door. "What is your deal?" You murmur, taking a step back. An annoyed scowl soon makes it way onto your lips. You usually weren't this bold, but you'd finally had enough.
He looks down at you, with cold, intense eyes.
Suddenly you don't feel so brave. You take another step back.
"Just leave him alone, ok?" Edward more or less commands, even though it was technically a question.
"What do you mean? I didn't- I've never even said a word to him!" You protested, gripping the side of your bag tighter.
"He sure seemed to be on your mind a lot.." The taller boy snarled, before turning around and exiting the empty classroom without another glance.
You stood there, stunned for a moment.
That made no sense.. what did he mean?
He had been on your mind all of class..
You shook your head, trying to clear your head. Whatever it meant, clearly he was insistent on one thing: you couldn't interact with Jasper.
You fished your earbuds out of your bag, walking to the parking lot. Casting one last glance in the direction of the Cullen's parking spots, you caught eyes with Edward. He just stared, as if he was looking through you. It made you shudder, and turn away.
You got into your truck, starting it up, and tossing your bag onto the seat next to you. You let your head fall down onto the steering wheel. "What the hell was that!?" You exclaim to yourself, continuously banging your forehead on the wheel softly. "God this is so dumb!" You spend a few more minutes sulking before finally shifting your truck into drive, and heading home.
You vowed to yourself that you'd never think of Jasper again, nor ever talk to any of the Cullens.
Little did you know, that vow wouldn't last for long.END OF CHAPTER
