"Honey! Guys! Diner's ready!"
"Yeah!" came a little girl's voice from the corridor, followed by 4 different voices saying "Coming!"
And from the corridor came a running blonde, blue-eyed little girl, her mother right behind her. Behind them was Oliver's son: William, and his girlfriend Ruby. Last but not least was Kara and Oliver's adopted daughter: Evelyn Sharp.
"Chili for everyone. Hot burning one in the red pot, the one for the sensible mouths in the blue one" he announced, putting said pots on the table
"Hey! I'm not sensible! You just try to make us burn up from the inside with that chili" protested William
"Can I remind you that your girlfriend is able to eat it? Even Astra can!" said Oliver, as he took his place at the head of the table
"She half-Kryptonian! She could eat a flare and not feel a thing!"
"Now, don't you go and give her any ideas young man" chastised Kara half-heartedly
"What do you mean?"
"You tried to make a game out of putting the laundry to dry so that she could use her speed to do it faster for you." Evelyn reminded him
"Oh right... Okay, shutting up now."
"Good ide-" started Oliver before a knock on the door interrupted him.
"Did someone invite anybody else?" asked Kara as Oliver grabbed a knife and stood up. Evelyn was right behind him, hiding behind the corner of the wall so that she wasn't visible from the front door.
"Kara?" he asked, knowing she was already using her X-Ray vision
"Only a girl, no one else outside. Mid-twenties. Don't know her, switchblade in her jacket pocket on the right side." she answered, really hoping the girl wasn't here to search trouble. This was their first meal together at the farm they had bought from Clark, Superman and his wife having decided to move permanently to Argo.
She had hoped that Oliver's vigilante past would not catch up to them and really wished that this young woman wasn't an assassin of some sort.
Seemingly satisfied, Oliver opened the door. "Hi?" he said, taking the girl in front of him. She had long, curly, blonde hair and breath-taking green eyes.
"Hi, are you Oliver Queen?" she asked, looking nervous
"Who's asking?"
"My name is Mia. Mia Smoak."
" 'Smoak'? As in-"
"Felicity Smoak. She's... was my mother."
"Felicity is dead? But I didn't hear anything?"
"She died yesterday. Before she passed, she asked me to come here and give..." she said, reaching in her left pocket, taking an envelope out of it "this. I'm supposed to wait for you to read it before going back"
Oliver carefully took the envelope from her, all the while looking at her. "Your mother died yesterday and you're here to give me this already? You're strong Mia. Want to come in?" he offered, seeing she was drenched up from the heavy rain.
"Please " she nodded, stepping in when he opened the door wider.
He closed it behind her and knocked two times on it. Evelyn stepped out from her hiding spot and looked at him. "All good?" She asked, eyeing Mia curiously.
"Yeah, tell the others I'll be there in a minute"
His daughter nodded and went back into the dining room. Oliver sat down the bench near the door, gesturing to Mia to do the same. She gladly took the seat as he took the envelope open.
