As she walks out the door to walk back to her dorm, she hears a familiar-sounding voice yell her name. She turns around but no one seems to try to talk to her.
Kara sighed, happy to finally be done with her classes for the day. She started her music as she walked out of class, letting Taylor Swift's music fill her right ear as she put her first Airpod
"Kara..." she heard on her left, the voice echoing from seemingly very far behind her
She spun around, trying to identify who had called after her. Unfortunately, she couldn't, as no one was either running after her or even looking at her like they wanted to talk to her.
She shrugged and went on. As she was crossing the grounds, however, her gaze naturally slid toward another student sat beneath a tree. He was definitely handsome, yes, but somehow, she felt like she knew him. That she knew him really well.
Probably feeling her stare, the man looked up from the arrows he was checking over and met her eyes.
Instantly, Kara felt her head spin, closing her eyes to try and get a hold of her senses.
When she suddenly felt like she was stable again, she opened her eyes and gasped. Gone was the college and the students, replaced by a high-end party with men in expensive suits and women in an exquisite dress.
In front of her, talking like nothing was wrong, were Lena and Alex, the CEO asking Kara's sister if she could get her in contact with the DEO's director
"Are you alright Kara?" Alex asked "You look pale"
"Uh yeah. Uhm... Where are we?"
Both her companions suddenly looked worried, sharing a concerned look.
"Kara, we're at Oliver Queen's birthday party."
Oliver Queen. The name echoed in her mind, feeling so familiar yet her brain wouldn't allow her to remember
"Speaking of the devil..." Lena said, taking a sip of her drink as she looked past Kara's shoulder.
Instinctively, the blonde turned around, immediately spotting who her friends add talked about.
Dressed to the nine in an absolutely dashing suit, the young billionaire entered the place with a handsome smile on his face.
However, when Kara's eyes met his, she couldn't help but wonder why his smile didn't reach his eyes
They held each other's stare for a few seconds before Oliver's mother said something, making him look at her.
Kara sighed, looking back at her friends, only to find them smirking at her.
"What?"
"Someone's smitten" Alex sang in a whispered voice
"What? No! Alex!" Kara chastised, playfully slapping her sister's arm
"And it seems that she's not the only one" Lena smirked, making Kara look behind her once more.
She gasped internally when she saw Oliver Queen walking toward them, his eyes fixed on no one else than her.
"Hello," he says "I've never met you before. What may I call you miss..."
"Kara," she said, trying to keep her thoughts under control "Kara Danvers"
"Pleased to meet you, Miss Danvers." he smiles, taking her hand to out a gentle kiss on "My mother insists that I start the evening with a dance. Would you give me the honour of being my partner for this dance?"
