"Jaemin, would you mind helping me in the kitchen?" Taeil knocks on the boy's door before heading back downstairs. Jaemin closes his history notes and makes his way out of his room, and down towards the kitchen.

"What are we making?" Jaemin comes in and grabs the apron that Taeil was handing to him.

"A cake for Jaehyun's birthday. It's tomorrow and I figured we should make it today so he doesn't get too suspicious." Taeil smiles. "And you're the best cook I know of, so here we are."

Jaemin laughs and opens up the cookbook that the older boy had taken out. He skims over the different recipes, looking for Jaehyun's favorite. "It must be nice having his birthday be valentines day, I think it's so sweet."

"Mhm...especially when you have your soulmate with you to celebrate."

"Here we go," Jaemin points at a classic angel cake recipe. "We can make this one, he eats it almost all the time." Taeil laughs and the two begin baking.

"Happy birthday babe!" Taeyong smiles happily as he hugs his boyfriend. Jaehyun laughs and hugs back.

"Thank you guys, this was amazing. Gotta say, it's way more enjoyable when we have a family." He turns to Taeil and Jisung who just smile back. Jaehyun was right, the 5 of them really had become a family. Jisung and Jaemin were like brothers, and Jaemin was always there for the younger boy. Taeyong and Jaehyun were (of course) the parents, they made sure the other 3 were doing alright and always willing to help. Taeil, in all his glory, was like an older brother to Jaemin. He cared for the younger with his whole heart. He would help Jaemin with homework, or scream and dance in his bedroom just for the heck of it. The 5 of them were like brothers, they had each other's backs no matter what. And they would stick together through anything and everything.

"Alright! Present time!!" Taeyong stands happily off of Jaehyun's lap and walks into the dining room where the gifts lay.

"You look chipper today." Donghyuk comments at lunch.

"I feel chipper today." Jaemin replies happily, munching on his salad.

Donghyuk smiles warmly. "I'm glad, I missed you."

"Awww no need to miss me, I'm right here whenever you need me." Jaemin reaches over the table to pinch his friend's cheek. Donghyuk slaps his hand away, and the younger laughs. "Oooh your mans is coming~~"

Donghyuk whips around, smiling brightly when he sees Mark and Jisung approaching their table. The two sit down and Donghyuk immediately clings onto Mark's arm.

Jaemin turns to Jisung. "Where's Chenle?"

"Talking with his math teacher. He was disrupting class again." Jisung rolls his eyes and stabs his food.

"Well don't take it out on your food, it's not the beefs fault that Chenle is a dumb bitch."

"I am not a dumb bitch." Chenle interrupts, plopping himself next to Jisung.

Renjun sits as well, coming in from another Student Gov. meeting. "Yes you are Chenle, don't deny it."

"Excuse you ma'am- For your information I happen to have straight-"

"Chenle no one here is straight. We're as straight as a circle." Donghyuk laughs.

"Yeah, a rainbow circle at that." Jaemin adds, stuffing his mouth with lettuce.

"Damn y'all really out to get me huh." the young Chinese boy glares at his friends. They just laugh in response.

It makes Jaemin happy, knowing his friend's were all having fun. It made everything a bit more bearable. He sighs and looks down at his food, now just moving it around with his fork. He looks up when someone kicks his leg, his eyes meeting Donghyuk's.

"You good?"

"Yeah." Jaemin smiles. "Just tired, my history work was pretty shitty last night. All good here."

Donghyuk eyes his friend but just nods. He knew Jaemin was lying, but he also knew that he had to let the episode pass before taking any real action.

Jeno sits at the store counter, doing his homework. He was once again on the night shift, and he still had a ton of physics stuff to do before tomorrow. He sighs as he tries to figure out another equation, racking his brain for the steps he needs to take to find the answer. The door rings, signaling a customer, but Jeno continues on with his work; only glancing up to find a boy with his hood up grabbing two bags of doritos. He looks back down, finishing up his equation.

"Need help?" Jeno freezes and looks up to see Jaemin smiling at him, two bags of doritos in his hand and his hood now off his head.

"Wh-what?"

"I asked if you need help. You look pretty confused there Lee." Jaemin puts the snack bags down and walks behind the counter, taking Jeno's pencil from his hand. Jeno stands and looks Jaemin dead in the eye. The other boy gives him a confused look.

"Do you need help Jaemin?"

"No...I already did my homework-"

"That's not what I meant." Jeno sighs and leans against the counter, his back facing the rest of the store.

Jaemin raises an eyebrow and puts the pencil down. "Then what did you mean?"

"You look like shit." Jeno states suddenly, making Jaemin's eyes widen.

"Excuse me?"

"You look terrible. It's clear you haven't slept in ages, and your body looks thinner than normal. Are you ok?" Jeno's eyebrows knit together in worry.

Jaemin lets out a soft 'oh', before breaking eye contact. "I'm fine, really." he smiles softly. "Just been busy."

"With what?"

"School work, you know, the usual." Jaemin waves his hand dismissively.

"Is it usual to look like you've been crying?"

This stops the pink haired boy. His face falls and it takes him a moment before he answers. "...Sorry...we had agreed to give you space, I didn't mean to disrupt. Thanks for the chips Jeno." Jaemin quickly rushes out of the store.

Jeno sighs and shakes his head, thoughts filling with worry. He looks back down at his homework, laughing to himself when he sees a bag of doritos with a note on it.
