Heartbroken (Part 4)

(Y/N)'s POV:

"Steven!" I called out to the boy running at full speed. "(Y/N)! What's going on?" Steven asked. "I just wanted to tell you that I... I... I like you!" I said with all the courage I had. "I don't think I like you in that way, I'm sorry..." Steven said as he looked away. I ran at full speed crying, I ran into a man by accident. "I'm sorry! Wait... father?" I questioned. "What are you doing here?" I asked.

He immediately grabbed me by my arm, he dragged me, I started to scream. No one cared, I felt like no one could even hear me. "Steven!" I yelled out but he didn't hear. I got dragged down into my basement, I called for help again, no one heard. All I saw was pitch darkness.

I opened my eyes, water coming out at full speed. I look around and see Connie and Steven sleeping beside me. Thank god that was a dream, or was that a memory? Steven woke up and saw that I was crying, he pulled me in and hugged me. "A nightmare?" He asked, I nodded.

"I used to get those all the time, do you want to talk about it?" Steven asked while still hugging me in a tight embrace. "Maybe later when it's not fresh on my mind," I said while putting my arms around Steven. "What do you see me as?" I asked Steven. "What do you mean?" Steven questioned. "I mean-" I was cut off by Connie, "what's going on?" Connie asked looking at the both of us.

"(Y/N) had a nightmare," Steven said while not letting go. "Can I get a hug as well?" Connie asked while blushing. "Sure!" Steven said while crushing me to hug Connie who was on the other side of the bed. "Sorry about that (Y/N)," Connie said while she and Steven finished the hug. "No, it's fine," I said.

"How about I go make breakfast?" Steven suggested. "Yeah! That'd be great!" Connie replied excitedly. Steven left the room and Connie started talking, "Remember about our little competition?" I looked down. "Yeah I remember..." I said knowing that I'd lose. "What even happens if one of us wins?" I asked curiously. "I guess the loser gives Steven space," Connie suggested.

I know I'm going to lose, I'm just going to leave Beach City. I wasn't planning on staying forever if Steven didn't like me. I'll stay and see how this plans out first. Maybe he doesn't like me or Connie? I agreed to Connie's terms and we both headed downstairs to see how the breakfast was going along. "Looks good!" Connie said while observing Steven cooking. "Thanks Connie!" Steven replied.

After it was ready, we all ate. "Hey Steven! Can me and you hangout alone today?" Connie asked with cheeks that start to go a light shade of pink. "Sure! Wait... are you okay with this (Y/N)?" Steven asked me. "Sure! I don't mind," I said while my gem instantly turned dark green.

"See you later (Y/N)," Connie said while smirking and walking out the door with Steven. I sat in silence with nothing to do. I decided to head out to the beach since I got a bathing suit when I went shopping. I changed but had a hard time tying the straps. I walked to the beach, I saw lots of people.

I went into the water, I wasn't nervous about people spotting my gem because people usually assume it's a necklace even though there's no chain. "Hey! Why don't you hangout with me and my friends?" A guy asked while tapping me on my shoulder. "Umm sure... What's your name?" I asked. "I'm Trey," he said. We started talking for a bit until I got uncomfortable.

He started touching me in places I didn't want to be touched. "I'll see you around, I have to go!" I yelled while running out of the water. "Look! You scared her away!" One of Treys friends yelled. I changed out of my bathing suit because I wasn't comfortable with wearing it. I watched TV until it was late, I realized Connie and Steven weren't back yet. I decided to walk around for a bit.

I spotted Connie and Steven... but they were kissing. I ran away crying, I didn't know where I was going. I guess this means I have to give Steven space. I sighed and realized I shouldn't go back to Steven's house. I decided to go into a local forest for the night.

I found a tree that looked usable for sleeping. I tried climbing it and failed falling down a couple of times, it left a few scars on my legs. I sat there for a while trying to fall asleep, I finally did hours later.
