Slow Dancing (Part 10)

(Y/N)'s POV:

I woke up and heard Steven singing, it was a nice thing to wake up to. "Hey Steven," I said catching him off guard. "Hey (Y/N)," Steven said. "You like singing?" I asked while standing up. "Yeah, I haven't been singing recently though... Do you like singing?" Steven asked. "Ummm I guess?" I said uncertain.

"We should sing together sometime," He suggested. "I don't know... maybe." I replied. "There's a concert soon, maybe we could participate?" Steven suggested. "That would be unsettling, let's talk about this later... I'm starving." I said then me and Steven decided to head downstairs.

We both ate some pancakes, when we finished Steven said he had to show me something. He took me to the warp pad and we both appeared in a garden. "This place looks so beautiful!" I said admiring the plants. "Yeah, I really like it here," Steven agreed.

Steven and I decided to lay down on a patch of grass. "(Y/N)? (Y/N)!" I heard while I opened my eyes and saw Steven poking me. "Wait... did I fall asleep?" I questioned. "We both did," Steven said as we both giggled. We both headed back and went to the shore of the beach. "The sun is already setting!" I said as I looked up.

"We must've spent the whole day sleeping, at least the view is good," Steven admires. "Yeah that's true," I replied. "Have you ever danced before?" Steven asked. "I've heard of it before... but I haven't seen it before." I replied trying to think back to when I first heard of it.

"Here, I'll teach you!" Steven said as he put down his phone and played slow music. Steven reached out his hand to me. "Ummmmm.... okay," I said as I took his soft hand. He put my one hand around his neck then proceeded to take my other one and put it around his neck. He placed his hands on my hips, "now you just move back and forth like this." Steven said as he moved in a simple motion.

"Okay, I think I got it," I said as I looked off in the distance trying to look anywhere but in Steven's gaze. Steven gently put his hand on my chin and pushed in in his direction. We both stared into each other's eyes moving closer by the second. My cheeks heated up and I could see Steven's cheeks were too.

We kept getting closer until there was no space left. We both pressed our lips together while closing our eyes. We heard footsteps so we quickly pulled away. "(Y/N) and Steven?" A voice said. Oh no... someone saw us. I turned around to see the gems.

They all looked surprised as they stopped moving closer to us. Yup... they definitely seen us kiss. Amethyst laughed, "You guys are cute!" Pearl sighed, "That was very immature." Garnet seemed happy, "Pearl, Steven is already 17, he can decide what he wants to do."

"Ugh, I guess you're right Garnet," Pearl said while she gave up on arguing. Steven and I just stood silently while embarrassed. Steven grabbed my hand and ran inside to his room. We both sat on Steven's bed silent. "Steven... Why do we keep kissing? Isn't that stuff for couples?" I asked breaking the awkward silence. Steven took my hands and held them.

"(Y/N)... I think we've been kissing each other because we love each other." Steven said. "Steven, how do I know what I'm feeling is love?" I questioned
