Changes (Part 8)

(Y/N)'s POV:

I woke up and saw that Steven was still asleep as always. I suddenly remembered the events that happened last night. Was that a dream? I blushed while looking at Steven. He looks so peaceful when he sleeps. I stopped staring in case he woke up and saw me staring. I got up and had a shower, the only thing on my mind is what happened last night.

I changed wearing the same style of clothes I usually wear with a jacket that has my favourite colours on it. I went to the kitchen and saw the gems were all there. "How did last night go?" Garnet asked. I blushed and my gem turned purple. "You already know!" I yelled embarrassed. Steven walked in from hearing the noise.

"What happened last night?" Pearl asked with obvious confusion. Steven blushed after hearing the conversation, Steven and I stood in silence. "C'mon tell us," Amethyst pleaded. I gestured my finger to the door and held up three fingers and counted down while putting one finger down with each second.

After I put down the third finger, me and Steven bolted out the door and ran near the Big Donut. "I'm glad we got out of that one," Steven said as we both were catching our breaths. "W-Why did you kiss me last night?" I asked flustered. "Umm... I can't put it into words," Steven said also flustered.

"When you can... can you tell me?" I asked while turning my head to hide my blushing face. "Hey Steven!" I turn around to see three gems, a Peridot, Lapis, and Bismuth. "Hey! We haven't seen each other in a couple of days," Steven said. "Who's this?" Lapis asked.

"This is (Y/N), she's a hybrid and is staying at my house," Steven replied. "Your house is getting fuller by day," Lapis joked smirking. "Yeah it'd be nice if my house was bigger," Steven said. "We could help you with that, what room is (Y/N) staying in?" Bismuth asked "Umm she's staying in my room," Steven replied flustered.

"That's... well how do I put this... wouldn't it be better if (Y/N) had her own room?" Peridot said. "I guess," I replied not wanting to admit that I liked staying in Steven's room. After our discussion all three of them got working on a room for me beside Steven's.

After a couple of days of their work work they were already done, it looked amazing! I thanked them and they left and said I could hangout with them anytime I wanted. "That was really nice of them to do that for you," Steven said looking at the finished product of my new room.

"Steven... am I always allowed to stay here? Or would one day you'd want me to leave?" I asked seriously with a hint of sadness in my voice that couldn't be noticed. "You can stay here as long as you want, if you feel the need to leave I can't make you stay," Steven said, saying exactly what I wanted to hear.

"Thanks Steven!" I said while putting my arms around and hugging him. As we both pulled away slowly we were blushing. "It's getting kinda late," Steven said walking to the door that connected to his. "Yeah that's right, I'll see you in the morning, goodnight." I said while getting under my covers.

"Night," Steven said as he shut the door. I hate this... I feel grateful that Peridot, Lapis, and Bismuth built me a room but, I feel alone. This feeling is the only one I've known for the ten years I was in that cage. My gem turned black, it's the only colour that I for sure knows what it means. It means fear.
