                                              The  Familiar Stranger

I was shaking when Damon wiped my tears away. He seemed sad, and deep down, I wanted to comfort him and make it all better, but instead I backed away. I didn't get far before he grabbed my hand, soothing me.

"What was that?" I asked with a shaky voice. He brushed some hair from my face and tucked it behind my ear, making my heart flutter.

"That was your past...our past. Well a little bit of it anyway...are you okay?"

His voice warmed me from the inside out and I shivered. I ignored his question because, no, I was definately not okay. I was in this guys house, wearing only his T-shirt. Not to mention how stunningly beautiful he was, his eyes alone made me feel those electric tingles, his slightly crooked nose, his perfect amount of muscles, his shaggy dark hair that fell just over his eyebrows...his lips. Yeah, he looked good but I kept havng to force myself to remember that he could be a serial killer or somthing.

On the other hand what I had just seen...it was so strange, I could actualy REMEMBER absolutely all of the details perfectly! I had been in those places and I somehow knew it was real; that what he was saying was the truth even though it sounded impossibly insane.

"It's called Reincarnation. It's when you're reborn over and over again for a very particular reason untill the problem or reason is either resolved or the chain is broken, it's like... a song repaeting itself forever... it depends on the condition...for us it's...," his voice had shaken me from my thoughts, I met his eyes and the air practically sizzled with electricity. He had left the end of his explanation hanging in the space between us. When he didn't continue, the word slipped effortlessly from my mouth without any hesitation.

"...Love."

The single word rang throughout the room and echoed off the walls.

Damon smiled, a full, teeth baring smile bringing up a small dimple in his left cheek, his green eyes brightened and I couldn't help but to return it to him, it felt contageous. I could look at that happy face for hours on end and still not have gotten enough. When he was happy, It made me happy. It transitioned into a look of wonder, want and curiosity. I took this small moment to notice his expressions and try and remember them all, they were so meaningful, deep, so much behind those eyes and the thick, long lashes that framed them.

"You mean like in another life or somthing?" I asked trying to figure this out.

"Exactly, we've always found eachother, many times you have...died...but you always are reincarnated and you find me, no matter how hard I look I cannot ever find you, but you always find me." He chuckled.

"I want to try something...unless...no, nevermind it's too soon." He said the last part almost to himself.

"Wait! What? What's too soon?" I was eager to know for some reason.

"Well, I as going to show you more of our past but your still weak from the attack-"

"The attack...," I cut in. "What happened? Who the hell was that Evelina girl?... why did she hurt me?," my hand went to my neck.

I went quiet for a minute while trying to pull the facts out of the hazy memory. I remembered seeing her say somthing to Damon and him writhing on the ground in pain...
