-Esme! I shouted her name.

She turned around and ran to hug me.

-are we going home? She asked with that cute little voice of hers.

-yes, we are, but aren't you going to say bye to your friends?

-oh yes I forgot, she stuttered

She ran back to her friends and hugged them. She came back to me and we drove home.

This day was like any other day. I helped her with her homework, we ate dinner, we saw Tv and she brushed her teeth and went to bed.

Tuesday 8:25 pm

While I was getting ready to go to bed, I heard my doorbell ring. I looked into the door hole and saw a beautiful lady holding a cake. She had long black hair and a long nose bridge. Her lips were plump and pink and she wore a grey hoodie. Her eyes were grey and her eyelashes were very long and her big eyes made her very cute. I did not know who she was, but I opened the door and she just stood there and smiled at me. It was awkward for a second when we just stood there at each other waiting for the other to start talking.

-hey, my name is Julie and I'm your new neighbor! She shouted happily.

-hey..., I stuttered.

-is the cake fo...

-yes, it is for you, she abruptly said and gave the cake to me.

We just stood there and stared at each other. I could tell she was an optimistic person because she just stood there and smiled at me. The awkwardness was so bad I could not breathe. She looked at me as if she wanted me to say something. Should I say thanks?

-Thanks for the cake! I said happily and smiled.

-you're welcome. I'm not sure if you'd like it, but I really hope you do, she said with her lovely voice.

-I'm sure I and my daughter will really like it, I reassured her with a smile.

-you have a daughter? She asked

-yes, Esme, that is her name.

-That is a beautiful name, she said

-How old is she?

- she is eight years old, I answered back with a smile while looking at my watch.

-what about your husband? she asked.

I did not know what to answer. I guess I should just tell the truth.

-well, I don't have a husband. we divorced before I got pregnant.

-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to ask you such a personal question. she said with a low voice and awkwardly smiled.

- Anyway. I better go sleep, I don't wanna be late for work or oversleep tomorrow, I said and smiled

-Can you stay a little while, because you need to meet my fiancee Byron, he went to the bathroom. I think it's nice that you get to meet each other.

Byron? I thought. That name...

-oh... okay, I mumbled

While we were small talking waiting for her fiancee to come, I saw a man coming from the house right next to mine. I guess that is her fiancee, I thought to myself.
