New Timeline (RWBY Fanfic)

Shade Academy Vault, Vacuo.
Three years after the Fall of Beacon.

Ruby Rose is laying on the ground in front of the open Vault to the Relic of Destruction. She has cuts all over her face with blood coming out of her mouth and nose. Ruby can't even feel her legs. She weakly tries to get up, only to see Oscar laying in front of her with a pool of blood surrounding him.

Ruby: O-Oscar...

She crawls over to Oscar's body and gently rolls him over to face the roof. Ruby tries nudging him, only to get no reaction. Tears start to form and fall out of Ruby's eyes, mixing in with the cuts on her face and making everything more painful.

Ruby: Please...no....

Ruby then hears a loud explosion. She looks up from Oscar to see Weiss and Ren crash into a wall before falling to the ground as their Auras completely collapse. Ren is motionless while Weiss gets on her knees only to see Arthur Watts shoot through her chest with his revolver. Weiss looks into Watts' eyes with surprise before her eyes close and she falls to the ground. All while Ruby watches helplessly.

Ruby then observes Qrow and Blake desperately fighting Tyrian. Blake's katana is knocked out of her hands by Tyrian's weapons before his blades quickly slit her throat. Qrow tried to stop him by attempting to stab him from behind only to be stopped by Tyrian's tail piercing through his body. Jaune and Nora were fighting Hazel, which took a turn for the worst after Ren was killed by Watts. Nora got distracted, which allowed Hazel to punch through Jaune's shield when he needed Nora to get the man away from him. When Hazel punched through Jaune's shield, he hit Jaune in the face so hard a crack was heard from his neck. Nora looked at what happened in horror, preparing to charge Hazel only to get stabbed in the back by Tyrian's stinger, causing her to collapse. Yang in the meantime, battered and bruised, was being held up by Salem with a hand on her throat. Ruby could only watch in absolute horror as everyone she cared for died in front of her.

Ruby: No, no no no no!!

Salem looks at Ruby and smiles before Ruby hears a crack! Yang goes limp and Salem drops her to the ground. Ruby reaches out towards Yang's body.

Ruby: Yang....

Ruby was producing so many tears and was now completely paralyzed by shock at everything that just happened. Salem and her group soon regroup as Salem walks over to Ruby with an evil smile.

Salem: I understand what you must be feeling right now, Ruby Rose. The loss of everyone you held dear and you could do nothing to stop it. If it brings you any comfort, you'll be joining them in but a moment. Cinder?

Ruby looks back and sees Cinder walking out of the vault doors with the Relic that appears like a sword on hand. Cinder smiles as she steps in front of the defenseless Ruby. Ruby panics and tries to crawl back away from Cinder.

Cinder: An eye, for AN EYE!

An ice shard created by Cinder suddenly appears and pierces into Ruby's left eye. This causes Ruby to scream in absolute pain and agony as she places a hand over her eye. Cinder then raises the Relic and hovers over Ruby, who's remaining eye looks at Cinder with complete terror. Cinder then stabs Ruby through the heart. Ruby gasps for a second before everything begins to go black.

??: Ruby! It's time to get up!

Ruby opens her eyes to a tan wooden roof instead of the ceiling of the vault in Vacuo. She finds herself in a bed as she sits up...her bed. Ruby then starts noticing the familiar layout of her and Yang's room.

Ruby: I'm...home?

She sees that Yang's bed has a set of drawers and a wooden desk with shelving built above it, containing a few books, with a single chair. Ruby's bed has a matching wooden desk and chair at the end of it, though her shelves have Grimm figurines on display and a string of lights hanging around them. A pair of landscape paintings decorate the wall immediately beside her bed, and on the wall opposite is a mirror. Beneath the mirror is a dog bed for Zwei.

Yang: RUBY! Get your butt out of bed or we'll be late for the transport to Beacon!!

Ruby: Yang? Beacon??

Ruby goes to her drawer and sees her old outfit ready for her. She gets dressed and heads downstairs to see Yang in her old outfit taking a bite on some toast with her father, Tai sipping coffee next to her. Yang looks at Ruby and smiles.

Yang: Finally! You're up!

Tai: Just in time to grab some toast too. Your transport will be leaving in half an hour.

Ruby looks at the two and walks over to them before suddenly hugging them tightly. She fights back tears in her eyes while her family members look confused at first before hugging her in return.

Yang: Hey, what's up Ruby?

Ruby: Uh, nothing. I had a really bad dream so.... I want you two to know how much I love you both.

Tai and Yang smile as Ruby breaks their group hug. Tai kisses Ruby's forehead before heading over to a plate of toast and orange juice.

Yang: Well, we love you too little sis.

Tai lays the plate down on the table and Ruby sits down to eat her breakfast before she and Yang leave.

~Somewhere in the Immaterium~

The God of Darkness looks at what appears to be an orb, watching Ruby as she enjoys breakfast after being sent back in time. He then hears footsteps, or something like that behind him. He turns to see his brother, the God of Light.

Light: What did you do brother? Why are we back three years into Remnant's past?

Dark: The outcome in Vacuo was not a favorable one Brother. While you may have been willing to destroy our creation if we were summoned by Salem, I was not. As a result, I changed the flow of history.

Light: What.did.you.do??

Dark: I sent the young Ruby Rose back in time with all her memories intact from those three years. I want to see how just one person could change everything armed with knowledge from the future.

The God of Light sighs and rubs his eye sockets since he doesn't have clearly shown eyes.

Light: I can't reverse what you just did as that timeline is now gone, only Ruby could restore it or create-

Dark: Yes, a New Timeline.

Hello guys! So I was looking at all these drafts I have lying around and I thought, "why not at least show the people some of these ideas?"

Now yes, that seems like a job for my Story Ideas book, but that is for ideas, not stuff I actually written! So, I'll be putting in the first chapters of several of my projects here to see how you guys react to it. If you guys like these projects, I could probably work on them more when I EVENTUALLY complete Reaper's Rose and Reaper of Remnant!
