Professor Reaper (RWBY Fanfic)

(Disclaimer: This story would not be Canon to the Reaper of Remnant storyline)

Ozpin is sitting in his office looking over some school reports. He seems pleased for the most part by the progress of the students, though there are some bad eggs here and there. Team RWBY has been an especially interesting group and the same can be said about team JNPR. Ozpin's focus is disrupted when one of the elevators to his office opens. He looks up and sees Professor Goodwitch with a... frustrated look, more than normal anyway.

Ozpin: Something wrong Glynda?

Goodwitch: Professor, I just got a call from Professor Port. He's apparently contracted a stomach flu so he won't be able to make it for his classes for the next few weeks.

Ozpin leans back on his chair and sighs.

Ozpin: I see, do we have any substitute teachers available to take his place.

Goodwitch: All the possible substitutes are either on some mission or in a bar somewhere. So no.

Ozpin chuckles at the reference to Qrow. He then spins his chair to look out the window and thinks.

Ozpin: Hmm.... Glynda, you know of the Grimm named Reaper, yes?

Goodwitch: That I do. Why...? Oh, you can't be serious Professor. He's a mute! Besides, he hasn't taught a class for decades!

Ozpin: I might have something for the matter on his inability to speak to us. Also, I'm sure he's learned to handle his temper around children during his time in Patch with Miss Rose and Miss Xiao Long.

Goodwitch sighs and crosses her arms.

Goodwitch: I'll let you handle asking him.

Ozpin smiles and nods. Glynda then walks out of the room and Ozpin takes out his scroll.

~In Patch~

By the cliffside where Summer Rose's headstone is placed, a human-shaped Grimm with a bird-like mask/face and wide-brimmed hat is sitting next to Summer's grave. He stares over at the horizon until he hears his scroll vibrate. He pulls it out and sees a message from Ozpin and reads it.

Ozpin: <Feel like teaching again?>

Reaper tilts his head.

~A couple days later~

Ruby is walking with Weiss, Blake and Yang to their Grimm studies classroom. They all, except Weiss, look very tired. They had to write a two to three page essay about one of Professor Port's adventures and apparently the substitute teacher will be collecting it today! Ugh...

Weiss: I wonder who Professor Port's substitute is going to be?

Yang: Whoever they are, I hate them already for making us still have to turn in this essay today.

Yang crosses her arms while Weiss simply glares at her.

Weiss: That's why I have told you girls to write the essay sooner and not on the last day!

Ruby/Yang: We KNOW...

Weiss: And Blake, I'm especially shocked that you procrastinated on the assignment too.
