What's This? (Paul Kennedy)

Part 6

Devyn's POV
My heart races as I watch Matthias look through the paperwork and work on his computer. I look at Connor and my leg starts bouncing, he looks away from me with a sly smirk. Confused, I look back at Matthias and wait for him to be done.
My gaze moves back down to the carpet, attempting to think of something else during this painful silence. I then hear the two men laughing, which startles me. I quickly lift my head up and look between them.
"You thought I was some scary boss?!" Matthias laughs and shakes his head. "No, I may be the boss, but I'm not someone you should be scared of." He smiles at me, and my eyes are wide open. I awkwardly laugh as my cheeks turn red from embarrassment.
"Oh ok.. heh," I shake my head softly and look away from both of them.
"Well, when do you want to start?" Matthias asks with a small grin on his face, his blue eyes shining with the blind to the outside window open.
"Well, whenever you want me to." I look up and awkwardly smile.
"How about next week? That way Connor can show you around and get you introduced and so you can also start somewhat soon?" He looks between Connor and I.
We both nod, "That sounds great, Matt." We shake hands and i get up to leave, "I hope you know that you won't get paid too much at first." Matt forewarned me, I nod again and smile widely.
"I completely understand, I'm gonna be a newbie," I laugh softly, open the door and leave. Connor follows me and laughs almost hysterically. I quickly turn my head at him, "What are you laughing about?!"
Connor bends over, laughing so hard he can't breathe, "You... thought... he... was sc..scary," he tells me through laughing/coughing fits. His face turns red because he cannot breathe. I point at him and laugh.
"Karma sucks, doesn't it?" I stick my tongue out and flip him off as I walk away. Connor catches his breath slowly and follows me.
"How can you walk off? You don't even know where you're going." Connor follows me, trying to walk in front of me. I simply speed up and run down the stairs.
"It's quite simple. Oh, wait, someone as dumb as you can't seem to comprehend what I'd do," I laugh and continue walking, "well, I'd find someone- oh there." I speed into a random office where there's a girl with dark hair and a bright smile on her face. "Hello, my brother is kinda being a huge ass right now, can you help teach me things and show me around? Apparently I'm starting next week." I smile and gesture to Connor when I say, brother. She looks very confused and then she smiles and stands up.
"Wait! You're Devyn?" She holds out her hand and is very enthusiastic, "I'm Sam. I'm not sure if you've heard about me, but of course, I'll help you! Here," she quickly grabs a chair and pulls it next to hers in front of her computer. "Now sit, and I'll teach you everything you need to know to be successful, better than Connor could."
"Thank you so much, I'm very excited!" I happily sit down and I look at Connor and smile innocently then turn my attention to Sam and the computer.
Connor's POV
I roll my eyes and walk away, leaving Sam and Devyn to work. As I'm leaving, I catch Paul. "Hey man, wanna go grab lunch?"
Paul stops, "Yeah sure, let me wrap up a few things, and let's grab Matt and Tanner." I nod and walk back to my office and work on some things while I wait. After about 15 minutes, my phone pings with a text from the boys.
Tan Man: Aye bois les go and meet at Matt's car
Matt: Why my nice Tesla?
Pauly boi: Bc it's nice
Matt: Fine, be out in 5
I quickly grab my wallet, phone, and keys. I turn off my computer and leave my office, heading towards the parking lot. I look around and see Paul and Tanner. They both look at each other and see me. They take off running towards the car, and I quickly follow.
By the time I reach the car, I'm the last one and out of breath. I sigh defeatedly and get in the back next to Tanner. I pull out my phone and play on it while pouting slightly in the back.
Matt gets in the driver's seat and Paul pulls out a blogging camera. "Hey guys, we're heading out for lunch. And I beat Connor AND Tanner to the car for shotgun." Paul laughs and looks at the camera. He pans the camera back to us, I turn my head away. "Aw poor Connor," Paul fake pouts then laughs. I roll my eyes and laugh softly.
"Alrighty, since I'm driving, I get to pick where we eat." Matt continues driving, not telling us where until we pull into the parking lot of Taco Bell. "We're eating here, what does everyone want? I wanted to park before drive-thru, so tell me and pay me once we get back."
We all give Matt our orders and we head to the entrance of the drive-thru.
Once we get our orders, we eat on the way back to the office. I focus a little too much on my food as I hear Tanner snickering at me. I roll my eyes and softly punch his shoulder, "Knock it off dude. We all love our food, okay?"

A/n- alright, so i suck at updating i've noticed, but bare with me please. i've also had writers block recently so i'm trying to get over that. i hope you all enjoyed.
