Since Oikawa was away at a training camp for the weekend, you were left to your own devices. You had to admit that you were lonely when your roommate went away. You guys didn't just do the nasty; you were friends.
"Nope!" you said out loud, jumping off your bed and rushing to your closet.
"Nopenopenopenopenope not doing that." you muttered, slipping on the cutest outfit you could find as you dialed a familiar phone number. You guys didn't have to exchange many words before hanging up the phone and rushing to the bathroom to do your hair.
~
"Kurooooooo," you groaned, laying your head down on the table. Kuroo was a friend of yours before you moved from Tokyo.
"[Y/N], I'm not gonna talk to you until you talk like a big girl." Kuroo grinned and ordered your usual meal from the usual restaurant you two met up at whenever need be.
You picked up your head, fixed your [h/c] hair, and sat back against the booth. Kuroo had that usual look on his face: lopsided smile, messy bedhead, chin resting on his fist. You felt the blush rush to your cheeks.
Kuroo always made you feel... warm. It's like he radiated safety; judgement free safety.
"Am I a bad person?" you asked seriously.
"Whoa, [Y/N], isn't it a little early to be getting this deep?" he teased.
"I'm serious," you shifted uncomfortably in your seat. "I saw Suga not too long ago."
"Oh?" now you peaked his interest. Kuroo was a slut for tea.
"Yeah. It was kind of... weird? Well, the first time was..."
"The first time? There are more times?!" he practically yelled and you flinched from the oncoming embarrassment.
"Kuroo." you said through gritted teeth. By this time, the waitress was back with your orders and you two started to eat.
"Okay," he said between chews. "Start from the beginning." he demanded. So that's what you did. You didn't leave out the tiniest detail; you needed Kuroo to know everything to get his very honest opinion.
He sat quietly for a while. He had this thinking face on.
"Do you like Oikawa?" Kuroo finally asked.
You did a double take. For some reason, out of all the questions you though Kuroo would ask, you didn't think of this one.
Did you like Oikawa?
We do hook up a lot... You thought. But did that mean you liked him? The more you thought about it, the more you felt your chest heat up. Oikawa has been one of your best relationships and he made you so happy.
"Mm... I guess so?" you put down your fork. "I mean, it's hard to explain mine and Tooru's relationship, you know?"
"Tooru?" was all Kuroo hung onto.
You facepalmed.
"[Y/N]..." he said in a sing song-y voice, taking a sip of his drink.
"Noooooooooope! I'm not listening! This conversation is over!" you covered your ears and pouted at Kuroo. All he could do was smile.
"Oh, this conversation is most certainly not over," he chuckled, looking at his phone. He seemed to reply back to a text and stuck his phone in his back pocket. "However, we've got a party to go to."
~
Kuroo dragged you halfway across the city with no explanation other than, 'We're gonna party 'til we're purple.' You didn't know what that meant.
Finally, you showed up at a house filled with rowdy kids like yourself and Kuroo. You started to get excited; you haven't been to a party in so long. Oikawa didn't really like them, so you two mostly went to cafés or stayed in.
"Run free," Kuroo whispered in your ear. Before you could take off to the nearest beer pong table, he grabbed your arm. "At a maximum of five feet away." he laughed.
Despite being over by Kuroo, you were still having a good time. The drinks were good, the people were fun to talk to, and the music was unbelievable.
You never strayed more than the five feet Kuroo allowed; you knew he was only doing it to protect you. However, somewhere along the way, you had a little too much to drink.
You and Kuroo somehow got separated and you didn't know where you were. You could still hear the music coming from the house, so you weren't that far. But how did you manage to wander so far from Kuroo? Where was he?
You started to feel uncomfortable; like you weren't alone. You tried to steady yourself before turning and following the music. Despite how drunk you felt, you were walking pretty good. Still, you didn't feel alone.
Before long, someone stepped out in front of you and blocked your path. The music was way louder than before. You were angry that you were so close and then this bullshit arrived.
"Can I help you?" you said defiantly. Or, well, you thought you said defiantly. It sounded more like: "Can I," hiccup. "herp you?"
"Oh," a deep voice said, grabbing your wrist. "I'm certain you can." he pulled you close to him and you wanted to puke. You tried to push him away but your arms felt like jelly.
"Screw you." you muttered.
"[Y/N]? [Y/N]!" that voice... you knew that voice.
You felt the grip on your wrist disappear and you fell forward into something. Actually, it was someone.
"S..Suga?" you looked up and his warm brown eyes met yours. He always seemed to catch you at the wrong time.
"Are you here alone?" he asked.
You shook your head. "I... got separated from K-Kuroo." Speaking of the devil, you heard Kuroo's voice boom as he called your name. You groaned; Kuroo is gonna be pissed.
You felt Suga's arms wrap tighter around you as you heard Kuroo approach.
"Oh, hey, Suga. Thank God you found [Y/N]," Kuroo turned to you. "I'm so sorry. I have no idea how this happened, [Y/N]." his eyes were full of worry. Suga's arms relaxed and he transferred you to Kuroo.
Kuroo wrapped his arms around you like a big security blanket. You relaxed against your best friend and fell asleep.
