Light filtered through the blinds and literally straight into your eyes, so you woke up with a start. You rubbed your eyes and yawned, taking in the bright morning. Then, it hit you: you weren't in your bed. You never went home last night.

And Tooru was going to kill you.

That was enough to kick your ass into a gear and you jumped out of bed. Luckily, you decided to sleep in your clothes so that was covered.

You opened Suga's bedroom door slowly, in case he was still asleep on the couch in the living room. He wasn't sleeping, just doing book work quietly on the coffee table. The door made a small creak that caught Suga's attention, and he turned to meet eyes with you.

"Hey, [Y/N], you're awake." he smiled brightly.

"Good morning, Suga," you said, fully emerging from his room. "Thank you for letting me stay." you smiled.

"Of course. It was nice of you to come over. I know it must've been... awkward." he chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head.

"I had fun; maybe we could... do it again sometime." you gave him a confident smile but you were really shriveling up inside. Were you two not going to talk about the kiss? Was it just an "in the moment" thing? You decided not to bring it up.

"Hey, sorry, but I have to go... I forgot I had something to do this morning." it wasn't the smoothest lie, but you were preoccupied with what you were going to tell Oikawa when you got home.

"Let me walk you downstairs." Suga said as he sprung up from the couch and made his way over to the door. He waited as you gathered your stuff and put on your shoes. The trip down to the lobby was a quiet one; both of you wanted to talk about what neither of you would bring up. It left you with a funny feeling.

You and Suga said your goodbyes and you were on your way to face what quite possibly could be your death.

Death by Oikawa Tooru, you giggled to yourself.

You still had no idea what you were going to tell him even as you unlocked the door to your apartment and slipped inside. The room was quiet, so maybe the coast was clear...

Just kidding, Oikawa was sitting on the couch, silent and waiting. You had half a mind to just sneak into your room, but that felt wrong. Oikawa wasn't just your roommate, and you had to face that fact at some point.

"Hey, Tooru," you coolly, knowing full well he wasn't going to let you go but making your way to your bedroom door anyway. Oikawa was on his feet in a flash, facing you.

" 'Hey, Tooru'? Is that all you really have to say, [Y/N]?" yep, he was definitely mad. You took your hand off the doorknob and turned slowly to face him. Oikawa had that scrunched up look on his face, like when he made a bad set.

"Look-"

"I thought we agreed: no staying over strangers' houses." he tried to say calmly through clenched teeth. It hurt your heart to hear and see him like that.

"I-It wasn't a stranger," you said quickly, wishing you could take the words back just as fast as you said them. "I lost track of time and it got late, is all." you tried to assure him.

"Then who was it? You couldn't call? Or just send a text!" Oikawa was really worked up at this point, and it was scaring you. You had never seen him like this and you weren't sure if you liked it very much.

"You're not my dad, Tooru. I don't have to tell you anything!" you shot back. The look on Oikawa's face turned from anger to hurt in a matter of seconds.

"Yeah, I know that. And I'm not your boyfriend. It's not like you don't remind me everyday or anything." he scoffed and rolled his eyes. His tense body seemed to soften as he sat back down on the couch.

Oikawa hung his head and ran his hand through his hair. Honestly, you kinda knew this would happen one day, just not today. Not after hanging out with Suga last night, and certainly not after the kiss neither of you would talk about.

"I'm sorry, Tooru," you sighed, making your way to the chocolate haired boy on the couch, and sitting next to him. "I... I didn't mean that. Listen, I wouldn't stay somewhere I didn't feel safe."

You took a deep breath and took Oikawa's chin in your hand, making his eyes meet yours. You wanted to melt, but now was not the time.

"Tooru, I'm sorry," you couldn't stand him being upset with or mad at you. "It was a mistake I made."
you pleaded. Oikawa sighed, tearing his eyes from yours.

"Okay, [Y/N]," he said gently. "Just don't do that to me again, okay?" his eyes met yours again, only they were full of sadness.

"I promise, Tooru."
