Kandice knocked on Alaric's door. Hi, Dr. Saltzman, she said nervously. Kandice, come in. Kandice sighed. I wanted to talk to you about the upcoming dance. Alaric shook his head. Can, I bring him out here? Alaric choked on his water. Kandice looked ashamed. Who? Your dad? Kandice nodded. Yea, she said quietly. I know you too have history and all. Alaric's face was red. Is he planning to do something to the twins? Kandice gasped. What? Why would you ever bring that up? For your information Ric, he's changed. He's my dad, and I'll be damned if I'll let you sit here and talk about him like that, and I've made your mind up. He's coming down for the dance. And if you try anything against him, you'll have me to answer to. Let me make myself clear, Kai Parker is off limits to you.

Kandice walked out of the office with Alaric stunned. She went to her room to change into her uniform. She never felt this good about herself.  She sat on her bed, pulling out an old picture of her mother Winter. She sighed. "I miss you, mommy," she said. She then pulled another one out only this time with Winter in Kai's arms. This brought her comfort. She had lost her mother but wasn't about to lose the man who meant everything to her.  She could hear her dad's voice in her head reminding her that she was always gonna be his little princess.
