Kandice lies in bed. Ever since the death of her father, she hadn't been herself. She thought that the headmaster she knew and "loved" would finally let go of his grudges when it came to Kai. Apparently, this was all in her mind. She was prone to more episodes than usual. These episodes were enough to scare the living daylights out of everyone. She wasn't going to get better not feel better. Not until her father was holding her in his arms once again.

She wasn't going to speak to Alaric or even the towns ever again. No one could ever understand how she was feeling. No one. Not even Hope. Even if she did lose both of her parents it wasn't the way she lost Kai. Kai was killed because he was "evil". Kandice knew the truth about her dad that no one could possibly imagine. She was the only one who ever accepted him beside her mother. She knew that Kai wasn't truly a monster. He was just a kid who wanted love from his family. But sadly they became cruel towards him. Hence the reason why he grew up the way he did.

But from the moment he saw his little girl, that all seemed to "change". He had to change for his little Kandice.
