Chapter 10

Ace frowned as she realized that she might have stepped out of line, even if she meant well.

"We all lost loved ones too."

"Now you want to act like a gentle princess. You've been a pain up my fucking ass for the longest! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT FROM ME!" You screamed, your veins popping out of your forehead and bulging through your neck.

Your face was devil red with anger.

"You don't know shit!" You continued.

You walked up to Jersey and looked at her with sad eyes.

"Why did you play me?"

"Old man I - " Jersey said, her voice timid.

"Don't! Just-don't... Don't you dare pretend like we're-cool or something! Like we're friends!" You roared.

Ace and Jersey were speechless, even Bruce was at a loss for words. The silence eased your rage for some reason, but it only amplified the emptiness you felt. You were over all the games. You were done being played. It was time to get down for business.

"What do you need help with?" You asked coldly.

"Well you know I told you about delivering a package earlier right?" Said Ace nonchalantly, "well you aren't going to be delivering one."

You raised your eyebrow.

"And...what you told me was a lie right," you stated, unimpressed, "is it because you want me for a threesome or something?"

Jersey's eyes bulged out of her head. She was about to open her mouth to say something when Ace interrupted,

"I want you to steal a package, not deliver it."

You disregard Jersey's red face and her expression of annoyance, tunneling in on Ace-from here on out, this relationship that you had with them now was strictly platonic.

I help them, I move on with my life.

"Alright; I need to know what the package is first" you stated as you crossed your arms over your chest.

"Fine, but not here. I have a place we can stay and be safe for a while," Ace offered

"Fine," you replied curtly, "let's go then."

You followed Ace, Jersey, and Bruce through the forest. It was already dusk. You could see the hues of athymest, gold, silver, and ruby appear into the sky. You could hear the sounds of birds as they started to wake up and announce the day.

Crap. It's already a new day?

You barely noticed the scenery around you as you dragged your feet in the dirt. You were dog-tired and running on little to no sleep. Not to mention, you haven't eaten within the past ten hours. Your stomach growled, breaking the uncomfortable silence between the molty group.

It seemed like almost an hour when you finally came to a side street. The only car parked on this street was a gray Escalade. Ace took out a small device from her pocket and pressed on it, causing the car's lights to flash.

"Hey- " you muttered, "what happened to your other two members Jersey?"

"Not sure, but if they made it out alive they'll know where to meet us," she affirmed.

All of you got into the SUV with Ace as the designated driver this time. Jersey claimed the front seat, of course, so you were stuck with Bruce in the back.

Ace started the car and drove off into the empty road. As she was driving, Jersey reached for her hand and folded their hands together. Ace glanced at her and kissed her hand. Jersey smiled sheepishly back at her. You look at them both with disgust and fold your arms across your chest.
