ALEX.

We spent the whole day at the dog cafe and I enjoyed every single bit of it. All the dogs were so cute and cuddly. I took so many pictures of the dogs, I think I may have to buy more iCloud space.

I also secretly took a photo of Nathan petting the Shiba Inu when he wasn't noticing. In the photo, he seemed so happy and carefree. Like in that instant, he wasn't the multimillionaire business person Nathan Chia. He was just a person, enjoying life. I favorited the photo, just to make it easier for me to find it later.

It was nearing dinner time when we finally made a move.

"So, where are we heading now? It's dinner time and I'm starving," I said while rubbing my tummy. I could really use some food right now.

"I was thinking we could go home."

"Home?" Do I have to help make dinner today?

"Yeah, come on. Let's go," he said.

Something tells me he was onto something but I decided to shrug that thought off and followed him to the car.

Once we were home, I mentally prepared myself of the things that needed to be washed and chopped for dinner.

I was not expecting a table set full of food when I stepped into the house.

"Nathan, what is this?" I was surprised beyond words.

"Well, I thought it would be nice if we could have some privacy when it came to dinner. There was no better place to do it than home." He held my hand for the second time that day (not that I'm counting) and lead me into the house.

"Ah, I see that you both are finally getting along," Aunty May said with a smile.

"Yes, Aunty May. We are getting along just fine," Nathan answered. Aunty May, still have a smile on her face, nodded her head and gestured us to head towards the dining table.

Nathan held my hand all the way, only letting go to pull out my seat for me. Such a gentleman. On the table were all the foods that I loved to eat; mashed potatoes, homemade chicken soup, pan-roasted salmon and stir-fried bell-peppers.

"These are all the foods that I like to eat! How did you know all this?" I could not hide the smile that was forming on my face. The fact that he knew all these made my heart swell. Is it right for me to feel this way?

"Well, all I had to do is just ask," he said as he sat down. Taking 2 wine glasses, he poured each of us some red wine and passed me mine.

"He made the effort to ask your mum and got lil' old me to cook it." Aunty May said as she placed our food down on the table.

"That's nice of you." My smile was still plastered on my face.

"Speaking of food, you don't need to help out in the kitchen anymore."

I raised both hands in the air. "Thank goodness! I can't cook to save a life!"

"I know, but I thought it would be nice to learn. Guess you still can't cook after a month but it's okay. I'd rather not have extra ingredients in my food," he said with a straight face.

Extra ingredients? Someone explain to me what he is trying to say please. Sometimes he says things that I can't understand, no matter how hard I try to. He's annoying me the minute we get home but it's okay, I shall decide to let it slide today because I'm nice like that.

"Speaking of which, the contract. It's bullshit. You know that right? Some of the things in it don't even make sense."

He smirked. "You may talk to your dad about that. He came up with some of the most ridiculous of terms in that contract."

Dad, I'm so gonna kill you for that.

"Anyways, I had fun today. It's been a while since I went out and forgot about work," he said as he raised his glass. "Thank you for allowing me to just be me."

"If this is you being you, I'd rather you be like this every day," I said after sipping on my wine. "The you in the office just doesn't seem to be any fun." I continued as I placed down my glass to start stuffing my face with all my favorite foods.

"Well, I kind of forgot how to have fun before today," he said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

He placed his glass down. "Let that be a story for another day." Oh, he isn't going to tell me. "I promise I'll tell you. Trust me?"

I shrugged. "Sure."

Dinner was pleasant and relaxed. Nathan seemed to let his guard down a little and was acting a more like a normal human being instead of being the usual prick that he is. I liked that he would play with his food before picking up to eat it.

I'm not sure if he knew but he didn't drink any water during his meal. He only sipped on his wine after he was done with all his food. I chuckled quietly, who does that?

"Thank you for the wonderful date," I said. "Looks like I don't need to teach you no more, you're fine as it is."

He smiled. "I had a great teacher I must say."

"Well," I said as I stood from the table. "I'm beat from playing with the dogs so imma head up to my room. You?"

"Same here. I have some errands to run tomorrow so I'll need to be up early."

"Alright then. Goodnight Nathan." I walked over wanting to give him a hug. I mean, it's normal to hug after a date right?

Nope.

Before I could come close, I was stopped by him placing his hands on my shoulder.

"Don't."

"Huh? Is something wrong?"

"I don't do hugs." He said, toneless.

"Okay?" I backed off. "Uhm, sorry?" I didn't know what I was apologizing for, though the look on his face said that it'd be best not to ask.

He hurriedly stood up and left the dining table, leaving me clueless as to what was going on with Aunty May looking at me with a sorry expression.

What exactly was up with this guy? Who doesn't do hugs? Damn it, I seriously can't stand his weird antics.

Please excuse me now while let me find a place to sit down and process this. I'll be in my room if you need me.

A/N: I'm currently editing this from work because hurray hurray, my boss ain't in today.

Anyways, looks like the date ended on a bad note. Who the heck doesn't like hugs? It was kind of sad to see Alex getting pushed away. What did you think of the date's outcome?

As always, please let me know how I can improve on my story! I'm a super beginner when it comes to writing so I'm learning as I go. Comments are always appreciated.

Side note, its always nerve-wrecking when I publish another part. -hides my face into a hole on the floor-

Thank you for reading! See you in the next part!
