MOMMA KNOWS BEST
《 "nobody mentioned anything about sore tits!" 》

the brown eyes of certain curly haired woman were glued to a pair of brunettes oddly related. it was weird seeing them like that, so... close.
she never thought they would have any physical contact.
nonetheless, here they were, right in front of one another. feeling no other thing than a desperate need for something they could only find within each other.
gina wasn't sure if she liked this, but it had to be done.
she didn't know how she was supposed to feel.
one of the most successful businesswomen in new york city, for once in her life, didn't know what to do. as the usual control freak mannerisms she commonly takes, she had always everything planned out, being naturally a very independent and a very clever person, a plan b, c and d were always there, just in case. but motherhood? oh, that was something that she thought she could easily manage aswell.
was she wrong? yes, very.
her daughter was a mix of unplanned things she would later find out. definitely a girl who was born to challenge her in every way possible.
a plain grey and white wall with a big window separated her from her daughter, and the carrier.
nina's facial expression was neutral, not wanting to show any feelings at all. her brown eyes seemed to remain glassy ever since both of them were separated, but surprisingly, they were going to be reunited once again.
it was an odd feeling, being aware of the non-existent shared blood but still feel so attached to a tiny thing that started breathing not even twenty-four hours ago.
"here she is," doctor matthews said softly while approaching the seemingly very nervous girl. as the man got closer, he tried to lean the child towards who, he was almost sure, was her mother. he still wasn't convinced about the whole thing.
nina's brown eyes widened in surprise at the gesture, "i can't hold babies! w-what if i drop her?" she muttered the last part.
doctor matthews chuckled in response, "you won't, trust me"
but it wasn't that easy, you just don't give away trust. it must be earned, and that was something nina had to learn the hard way two years ago.
still uncertain, the brown haired young woman nodded, more than enough for the doctor to lean the infant towards her.
she immediately tensed when she had the tiny baby finally on her arms. it felt strange, but right in some kind of twisted way. the baby had opened her eyes and was watching the new person holding her in wonder. almost innately, nina's hand caressed the child's cheek, her soft pink skin feeling marvelous against the woman's finger. she was still wrapped in that yellow blanket, and nina was glad that it was useful and was keeping the little one warm after all.
the yellow blanket with white daisies at the bottom was a little gift nina had gotten for gina a few days after they discovered that baby porter was a girl. nina thought it was cheesy, and somehow rude. the carrier making gifts to the child she was going to birth but it was not related to her? pathetic. but at the end of the day, gina was actually grateful, accepting the thoughtful gift with a grin and feeling truly happy that her daughter would have a little something from the woman that literally made her.
