~Logan's POV~
I've been watching Patton since yesterday, of course not blatantly. If I don't figure out what's making him act off, it is going to figuratively kill me.
He's not making it easy though. His smiles seem genuine enough, save for that one yesterday while he was washing dishes. And he brushes me off whenever I ask about it.
So, I have concluded that I am simply going to have to spy on him, for lack of a better term. He also seems to become flustered whenever I am in close proximity to him; i.e. less than two feet away from him (I calculated).
Right now, he's doing the laundry that he'd been putting off since the breakup. Which I can understand; he needed some time to himself.
Wait a second.
Is it the breakup that's making him act different? Surely not. He'd be over it just like everyone else is, right?
I suppose though, that he is Thomas's heart, ergo would cling to a broken relationship..
Still, it can't be that. Surely he'd be more upset if it was that.
Patton walks into the living room, where I am currently sitting. "Oh, hey Logan!" he says, seemingly happy. He sounds cheerful enough, but his smile, it's off again. I can't describe how.
"Salutations, Patton. How are you feeling today?" I ask him.
For a split second, possibly less, Patton looked away from me, which of course, I took notice of.
"I'm great! How about you?" he says, smiling a closed-eye smile. "I'm perfectly fine, likewise to every day." I tell him.
"I'm glad!! Is there anything I can do for you?" Patton asks. That's odd. I mean, yes, he usually likes to do things for us, but normally only asks that if we are inquisitive about something or if someone is upset, which I am neither of.
"No, but I appreciate the offer, Patton. I will, however, let you know if there is something I need from you." I tell him.
"Okay! Well, I'll be in my room, Logan!" he says, smiling as he walks upstairs.
Very peculiar.
~Patton's POV~
I walk upstairs and close my door, sighing. This is going to be tough. But it'll pass soon, right..? I mean, everyone else is starting to get over it.. I should be too..
It's okay, Patton. Just.. Fake it till you make it, right? That's what Thomas was taught when things got rough, so that's what I'm going to try to do.
Just as I run my hand through my hair, I hear a knock on my door. Probably Roman or Virgil wanting to talk.
"It's open!" I say, forcing my smile back on my face. Well, let's just say it wasn't Virgil or Roman, which caught me off guard.
"O-oh, Deceit! What um... What can I help ya with?" I ask, smiling at him. "Without making this any longer of a discussion than it needs to be, I'm just here to tell you something." he says, closing the door.
"Oh?" I ask, backing away so he can walk around. "Listen, Patton. I know what you're doing." he says.
~Deceit's POV~
Patton gave me a confused and nervous look, a blatant sign of lying. "Wh-hah?"
"Oh please, Patton, pay attention to who you're talking to. Did you honestly think you could get away with lying without me finding out? You might be able to hide it from everyone else, but lying is my job, Patton."
Patton's face fell a little, turning more nervous. "I'm... I'm not lying... I'm just... Not telling them how I really feel..?" he says with an uncertain smile.
I roll my eyes a little and sigh. "Oh, sweetie, that's called a lie of omission. It's actually a really common lie. It's where you hide information from another person or persons, so try again."
Patton opens his mouth to speak, but the words fall into a stuttered sigh. I raise my eyebrows and hum to myself. "See? You know it's true."
Patton looks at me, not even trying to hide his current feelings. Hurt.
".. Why are you here, Deceit..?" he asks, eyes following me as I pace his room a little. "I'm here to warn you." I tell him. He frowns in confusion and looks at me carefully. "About what..?"
"What you're doing isn't unheard of, and it never turns out healthy for the person doing it. So either take my word of advice and talk about it to your lover boy, or regret it. But don't come crying to me when the worst happens." I say before snapping out of his room.
~Patton's POV~
"...." I look down a little. I wasn't expecting that at all. The worst? What's the worst? What does Deceit think will happen to me?
Wait why am I crying? He can't have been serious, he's Deceit!
I sink down against my wall, holding my hand over my mouth to keep quiet. I know what he meant when he said ‘my lover boy’; he meant Logan. Talk to Logan?? About feelings? He wouldn't listen..
I don't even think he would care.
