Oh, what a wonderful day it has been so far! And I foresee it will get even better! This afternoon, a Winkie Prince named Fiyero arrived in the courtyard after classes were over and said that he would hold a dance down at the Ozdust Ballroom. At first, I was disappointed. I couldn't go! I can't dance and even if I could, I had no one to go with me to keep me company. However, I was just about to retire to my room when Boq came up to me and asked me to the dance! I said yes, of course! He looked thrilled and said he had to go get ready. He looked so comical when he asked me that I almost laughed. I didn't thou because it might have hurt his feelings. I was going to Elfaba's room to tell her what had just happened, when I saw Galinda returning to her room in a whirl. She had apparently been asked to go to the dance by the Prince. She asked me if 'the Munchkin,' as she called Boq, had asked me to the dance yet. I told her yes and asked how she knew. She told me that Boq was too shy to ask me at first, but when she encouraged him, he plucked up enough courage to do so! I am so grateful to her! Finely for this one night I'm about to have some fun tonight, with this Munchkin boy, that Galinda found for me! I only wish there were something I could do to repay her! I told Elfaba everything. At first when I mentioned Galinda she got angry. However, when I told her what she had done for me, Elfaba said that she understood and that she would find a way to thank her! Oh, I am so happy! I am going to ask Madame Morrible to help me get ready!
