----Amelia POV----

"Next stop Burnside,"

Getting off the bus, it was a quick walk to Dameon's other place. Being unsure of what was about to happen had my stomach in knots. Reaching the gates I had to force my legs to make up the steps. I knocked on the door unfortunately it wasn't Dameon that opened the door. "Well you look like shit", Mike said.

"Thanks a lot captain obvious. Is he here?"

"Is who here?"

"The Queen of England! Don't play with me right now! Who do you think I'm looking for?"

"Hell I don't know what you got going on all I know is that your bad for business."

"Bad for business what is that even mean?"

"It means he talks too much!" I spun around to see Dameon standing at the bottom of the steps. His eyes are low and red. He looks like his night was as rough as mine.

"I've been calling you."

"Yea I cut off my phone", he replied.

"You never cut your phone off why would you do that?"

"Obviously means he doesn't wanna talk duh", Mike interjected. "How about you go find some business and leave mine alone!" Dameon snapped. "Whatever man", he scuffed as he walked back into the house.

I just stared at him for a while, but he didn't look at me back. Instead, he made his way up the steps, so I started to walk down. I thought we would meet the middle, so I stopped, but he continued to walk right past. It looked as if though he was going in the house, but he stopped and turned back in my direction, but he still won't give me eye contact. "You iight?"

Are you fucking kidding me after leaving me in the ER and didn't bother to call or pick up the phone for the last six hours The only thing he could think of saying was am I OK!

"I'm fine, you ok?"

He looked confused by me redirecting his question, "Yeah I mean I'm straight but what are you even doing here? Shouldn't you be packing or something."

"Packing? Packing for what?"

"Um you do have to go back to school tomorrow right?"

"Ah wrong, you heard what Papi said "no school" remember.

"Yeah I took care of all that so you should get home and get on it." His tone was strange and starting to get on my nerves.

"Took care of what D?"

"You good now so you don't have to worry about." he replied.

Now I know I look confuses hell cause I was confused as hell so I'm pretty sure my face showed that I was confused as hell too.

"What did you do? How did you make him to agree to take back everything he said and be ok with us being together?"

He took a deep breath and as if my question was annoying him, "I didn't, neither did he." he huffed.

"Would you stop talking in circles cause I don't get what you're trying to say. What did you do? How is everything going to be ok, Dameon?"

He just kept his eyes everywhere but mines. This wasn't Dameon he was a straight shooter, he never beat around the bush. I still wasn't grasping what he was trying to say until he finally looked up at me with that same look in his eyes I saw when we were in Papi's office. His eyes were glassed over with tears, I knew that expression was hurt and pain. My chest tightened as a hit me on what he was struggling to say. He stared back at the ground to try to conceal his tears, and he nervously bit his lips and places hands in his pocket. His body language revealed his words loud and clear.

"Dameon you don't have to do this."

"Yes I do Amelia! I need you to have everything you've ever dreamed of, and I was crazy to think I can give that to you."

"But you have! You are a part of my dream, did you not hear when I said that part? Your all I want-"

"But I'm not what you need" he sighed.

"Dameon please don't do this, it's you and me no-"

"DON'T BEG AMELIA!" He took a deep breath to regain his composure then continued, "It makes you sound desperate and weak and you're neither so just don't! You'll forget about me."

"NO!"

"Look it's done I already spoke to your fam, that's prob them trying to call you." I hadn't paid attention to the vibration in my pocket until he said something. I had gone numb and couldn't feel anything. I knew this man and when he made a decision there was no changing his mind and as much as I wanted to beg and plead to get him to see things my way he was right, I was better than begging no matter how much I loved him, at least if he didn't want me any more he would at least still have some respect for me.

I had been fidgeting with the ring on my finger as I walked up the steps towards him. He backed away from me as I placed the ring on top of the mailbox. He looked at the ground as I cupped his damp face and planted a kiss on his salty cheek. I turn and walk down the stairs hoping he would stop me by the time I got to the bottom step, but he didn't and I didn't turn back. I went back down the same alley that put us together all those years back.

This was going to a long bus ride. "Next stop, High Park."
