They were going on a job, as per usual. Only this time, Vorona is with them. Shizuo was by Tom's side, while Vorona tightly following, also in a creepy manner.

  It was quiet.

  Too quiet.

Tom wanted to make some small talk, just to make their walk a little less awkward.

"So, uh Vorona, where are you from?" Tom asked.

"Wait. You're from Russia. Right." He facepalmed at his failed attempt and continued walking.

And walking, and walking...Shizuo ultimately started talking to Vorona, and some days, would treat her cakes and treats. He could say, he was starting to get attached.

One day, they finished work and started to head home. Shizuo said bye to Tom and started walking home. Except that Vorona followed. Shizuo turned around and saw Vorona behind him, not saying one word.

"Uh, don't you need to go home?" Shizuo asked.

"Negative. I do not own any property to return home to."

Shizuo scratched his head. All this fancy talk is hurting his brain.

"What about Russian Sushi? Don't you use to work there?" Shizuo asked. Usually, Vorona would walk off on her own, so he assumed she had a place to live.

"No..." Vorona looked down.

"Well, seeing you are my precious junior, I suppose a can give you a place to stay..." Shizuo muttered.

"That will be perfect. Thank you Shizuo-senpai."

Shizuo brought Vorona home. He wasn't the proudest of how his apartment looked, but it was presentable. Shizuo went to his kitchen and looked around.

"If I have a guest over, might as well have something fancier..." Shizuo mostly ate cup noodles, but he had to have something better than that. But other than his own stock of sweets and cup noodles, his fridge was completely empty.

Ah. His stomach rumbled, maybe Vorona is okay with having cup noodles. No! It was his junior, possibly his first and his last. Cook something. He could cook a decent curry, and that's he'll do. If he had curry. There was a note, which read,

'Hey Shizu-chan! It's your favourite Izaya! If you're wondering where your curry went? Well, I was hungry, thanks a lot Shizu-chan! ( ╹▽╹ )'

"I'm going grocery shopping."

Shizuo went off on his own. Ticked off. Damn that Izaya. He shoved everything off the shelves into his basket and bought some sweets for himself. He went to pay and went home.

"Yo, Shizu-chan." An annoying voice rang. Shizuo didn't need to confirm who it was, he grabbed the nearest railing and threw it at the damn flea. The railing landed with a huge crash and Izaya landed right in front of Shizuo.

"What do you want, I~za~ya~kunnnnn~"

"Vorona is with you, right?" Izaya asked, touching Shizuo's nose. Shizuo slapped Izaya's hand off and glared at him.

"How do you know that." Shizuo said sternly. Izaya shrugged, his signature smirk appearing on his face.

"You should know better, Shizu-chan. Your sleeping face is cute!" Izaya teased. Shizuo felt a vein pop and grabbed Izaya's jacket collar.

"Leave her alone, she has nothing to do with shit people like you." Shizuo warned. Izaya laughed, and laughed.

"Really? You're naïve, Shizu-chan! She's trying to kill you! She's probably planting landmines around your house now! She's killed people, and she doesn't feel bad for any of it!" Izaya yelled happily. Shizuo loosened his grip and Izaya fell to the ground, laughing. Shizuo left, leaving Izaya.

"She's mine! Shizu-chan is mine to kill! You think she can put up with you? Ha!" Shizuo ignored him.

Then he was alone with thoughts. He knew it. Vorona was the biker who kidnapped Akane. He was just hoping it wasn't. He took a cigarette and frustratedly tried to light it.

He went back to his home and remembered Izaya's words.

"That flea!" He shook his head to get his irritating voice out of his head. He got his key and unlocked the door, and slowly opened it.

"Sorry Vorona, ran into someone annoying." Vorona wasn't in the living room. He looked into his bedroom.

And there laid Vorona, bloody. Her eyes were closed, lying in a puddle of her own blood. Shizuo threw away his groceries and raced to Vorona's side.

"Vorona! Stay with me! What...what happened?" He knew it. Anyone close to him would get hurt. It was Izaya.

Anything that happened to Shizuo, ninety nine percent had Izaya's involvement. He clenched his fists and carried her.

He couldn't love. He couldn't even get any friends. They were bound to get hurt. He carried her to Shinra, and left.

He thought, Vorona could be a special case. One that could put up with his violent personality. Izaya was right. He was naïve. He couldn't never love.

"Shinra...can you tell Vorona, I love her?"

He could never love. Even if people love him for his strength, it was a curse, bound to him. He couldn't love back.
