"I'm sorry..." Shizuo said to Midoriya. Under the surveillance of guards, Shizuo was able to visit Midoriya in the hospital. He sat next to him, and he felt deeply guilty for what he had done.
Sure, he didn't know Midoriya all that well, sure, you could say Midoriya was just a mere stranger. But at the same time, it was something so much more. Back in Ikebukuro, just the name of Heiwajima Shizuo would scare the living daylight of countless people shitless. Nobody thought of him as a regular human. They all thought of him as a monster. Unable to be reasoned with. They saw him as a tourist spot, and people around the world would actually come to him to see what he was capable of. They saw him as a cage animal.
Shizuo believed he was cursed right from the beginning. From the moment he was taken over by anger, he nearly hurt his own brother he loved so much. He hurt and destroyed things he wanted to protect in the first place, his actions even deeply scarred himself. He tried to control it, his anger, his body, his strength, yet it all slipped from his fingers.
"So everyone is supposed to have a quirk? How about you?" Shizuo asked Midoriya.
Midoriya blushed lightly and hid his face with his arms. "I don't have one..."
"Oh. Sorry for bringing that up." Shizuo apologised quietly.
"It's okay. Even though I don't have a quirk, I still want to be a hero. One strong enough that everyone will be at ease when I am around."
"That's good.
"Hey...do you think I can be a hero?"
"I don't know."
"Well, I guess that's fair..."
"I want to become stronger, stronger than anyone else!"
"Really? Oh, that's cool."
Midoriya's eyes slowly started to open, once Shizuo realised, he immediately tried to leave. He couldn't face him. He was sure Midoriya wouldn't forgive him either.
Then, he heard a weak voice. "Heiwajima-san..."
Move. Shizuo wanted to run away, yet his feet stayed planted to the ground. Move!
"Heiwajima-san...where are you going?" Midoriya said weakly.
"I... I'm going to a place where I can't hurt anyone anymore. You should forget about me. You have your own dream, don't you? Don't ruin your future just to save me." Shizuo muttered. He took another step.
"No... you're a good person...I can tell...please... don't blame yourself...it was my fault..." Midoriya spluttered.
"Stop..."
"You're a good person! I know it!" Midoriya shouted.
"Shut up!" Shizuo barked.
"Listen, kid. You're a good kid, at heart. But, you can't just go around sprouting things you believe and then convince people. You can't just say you believe that I'm a good person. You saw what I did, and it's irredeemable. I hurt you, and God knows what would have happened if you didn't stop me.
This is not how the world works. So just forget about me. You're just a kid. I don't want me to ruin your future. I'm just like any criminal now. Don't drag yourself into these depths. If you really think I am the man you believe me to be, then we wouldn't be here." Shizuo yelled.
"And something I wanted to tell you before. You said you wanted to be stronger, and I'm telling you here that you don't have to be. You're already stronger than me. You tried to save me. You couldn't. But, don't be discouraged. Keep saving people, and don't turn out like me."
"Heiwajima-san?" Midoriya mumbled.
"Sir, it's time to leave." Then, the guards escorted Shizuo away.

*Timeskip"There's another student who wants to go to UA... Midoriya Izuku?" The teacher read his name out loud.
"You? You quirkless nerd?" Bakugou looked behind him and saw Midoriya who was sitting straight with a confident look.
"What the frick is with that look? You think you're better than me?" Bakugou spat. Leaning towards Midoriya.
"Calm down, Bakugou. Remain in your seat. And language please."
"You're quirkless. You can't be a hero, so give it up." Bakugou said slyly.
"No, I can! Someone said I could! Heiwajima-san... Heiwajima-san said I could!" Midoriya argued back. Bakugou physically recoiled when Midoriya lashed back.
"Who is that? Someone in your dreams maybe?" Bakugou fired back with less anger.
"No. Heiwajima-san is someone I met before. He said I could be a hero, he said I could continue to save people, just like I saved him." Midoriya said with certainty evident in his voice.
"What, you...well I want to meet him to see what he's all about! If you speak of him as this godly person!" Bakugou replied sharply, slowly backing down. What happened to Midoriya? He usually would take his insults and just back down, but now, he's fighting back.
"Heiwajima-san...he's..." Midoriya stuttered, not sure what to say.
"Hey, isn't this Heiwajima guy the dude who was arrested a few weeks ago?" One of the students piped up. Once Bakugou heard this, he face grew a sickening smile.
"Heh, I knew you were pathetic, I didn't you would stoop to a criminal's level. How can you even be a hero? I'd say you're more of an accomplice of a villain. Yet you still play hero?" Bakugou sneered.
"No...I-I... Heiwajima-san is a good person! I...I know it! Otherwise, he wouldn't have done the things he did..." Midoriya mumbled, tripping over his words.
"What, getting innocent involved in his little rally? He even put you in hospital. Grow up nerd. Learn to realise how the world works." Bakugou scoffed.
"Umm, Midoriya, Bakugou, mind if you take this after class?"
"This isn't finished Deku. See you after class."
Meanwhile in a random prison
"Heiwajima-san, is it? You got a visitor."
It must be the damn kid again. What was he thinking? Visiting a criminal like him in broad daylight like that? "Tell him to go home and never come back." Shizuo tiredly said.
"He insists on seeing you. And he says if you refuse to see anyone, leave him a message."
"Miss me, Shizu-chan?"
That little piece of shit.
"I'll go fuckin see him all right."
A/N: With every chapter I manage to make Shizuo seem more and more out of character...*sigh*
