Finally, both Shinra and Celty have a day off. An extremely rare occasion. But unlike Shinra, who was both excited and hopeful, Celty, on the other hand. Not so much.
"Celty! We finally have some time together! What should we do? Video games, a walk on the beach holding hands? The bedroo-" His sentence was cut off his a punch to the stomach as Shinra flopped to the ground with his stupid grin still on his face.
Celty took out her typewriter thing and tapped something out.
"Shinra, I..."
"What's wrong?" He said looking at Celty. It was something serious.
"I feel...sick."
"What?! A dullahan can get sick??" Shinra got up and instinctively tried to feel for her forehead.
His hand passed through Celty's head mist."Right. I can't do that."
Instead he reached for her hands, which were ice cold.
"I don't know, but I think you have a fever. You need to get some rest." Shinra held Celty's hand and said.
Celty yanked her hand away and typed something out.
"I'm fine! I think I'm still just a bit tired."
"You're right! Dullahanes can't get sick."
"But..." Celty ignored Shinra and got up, but after a few shaky steps, she fell over.
"Celty!"
"Celty! Celty! Are you okay?" Celty opened her eyes and saw Shinra looking over her. Her head was dizzy, and it was cold. She immediately started shivering and Shinra noticed.
"You're still cold? I already got all the blankets though. Maybe I'll come in and warm you up-" Celty pushed Shinra away before he could finish his sentence.
She stumbled out of bed, and tried taking a few steps, then immediately needed to lean against a wall. Her head felt like it was exploding, even though she didn't have one, and Shinra rushed to her side once again.
"Celty...I told you to rest... I'm not expert, but you have a fever and you need to rest." He said worriedly.
Celty leaned her back against the wall and slumped down. "Is this what humans feel?"
"Well yes, but come on, let's get you to bed."
Shinra scratched his head while he looked at remedies for colds. Nearly all of them were about food or drinks, and the last time Shinra checked, Celty doesn't have a mouth. Usually you put a cold towel on the forehead, but what if you had no head? Shinra sighed. This was getting nowhere.
"No luck. I would give you medicine, but as you know, you don't have a mouth."
"Sorry..."
"What, why?" Shinra immediately asked upon seeing this message.
"It's finally our day off and I lose it by getting sick..." Celty typed.
"I'm so sorry, Shinra. I wasted your time."
Suddenly, Celty felt two soft hands holding hers. Shinra kissed her hands and looked at Celty.
"Any time I spend with you, I would never consider a waste of time."
The next day
"Why? Why am I sick? And why are you okay?" Shinra yelled while laying in bed.
"It's because you're a dullahan, that's the only explanation, so do dullahanes have a stronger immune system than humans? Actually, why do dullahanes catch colds in the first place? Is it because-" Then Shinra fell into a coughing fit. Celty replaced the towel on his forehead of his hopeless husband.
"Here. Have some rice porridge, it'll make you feel better." Celty said, placing the bowl on Shinra's lap.
Shinra closed his eyes and pointed to his mouth. "Feed me."
Then a punch of the chin.
"Ah! Domestic violence!"
