Faint whispers echoed inside my head.
"Maybe she fainted out of shock..."
"Maybe. Or it could be the sight of your face. I wouldn't blame her, anybody who came in a 1 mile radius of you would faint."
"Shut up, Aqua. Have you looked in the mirror lately? Oh no... you can't because shattered all of them with YOUR face!"
"Is that all you got Echo? My grandma could make better comebacks than you , and she has no teeth!"
A new voice entered.
"Guys, stop fighting. I think she's awake......."
Light came crashing into my sight, as three faces stared down at me.
"Heyy! Mrs. K! She's awake!" Echo screeched, as if I had died or something.
I winced at the sound of her voice.
"Turn the volume down, Echo." I whispered.
"Ohmigod!! She's speaking!! Ms. K!"
"Yes Echo, humans tend to talk since they have voices."
I was suddenly wrapped in a hug and all I could see was red and sparkles for five seconds.
"I thought you died, Zola..." sniff sniff.
Well, that explains the screeching.
"Well, Echo I'm here now. And very much alive."
"And I'm glad." Echo grinned as she left the room.
"Hey." Aria waved awkwardly, entering the left side of the room.
"Hi." I said.
"So are you okay now?"
Well I'm alive so I think I am, unless I'm in heaven or most likely hell, considering that I'm Zola.
"Yep. I guess so...."
Aria nodded. "Kay."
Luckily, Echo came back and relieved Aria and I of anymore tension.
"You guys miss me? " Echo smiled playfully.
"Nah. We were doing fine, right Aria? " I smirked at her.
Aria had a smile, but this time it was genuine. "Sure."
Then the three of us shifted into a comfortable silence.
Aqua suddenly burst in the room, panting and out of breath.
"Guys ,pant, hurry up.,pant,Ms K., pant, needs us in the gym.""Geez Aqua." I said, getting up, "I thought you were captain of the swim team?"
"Well, cough, sometimes I slack off okay?"
And with that we rushed out of the room to where our adventure awaited.

Ring, ring. Ring, ring."Hello? " Clarke's deep voice came on the line.
"Hey Clarke this is Zola."
"Oh hey Zola!" His tone seemed to change from monotone and emotionless to sunshine and daisies.
"Hey listen about the date-"
"What date?"
"You know when we were gonna hang out today?"
"Yeah. I'll see you at the garden in ten."
"The thing is that I-"
"You're excited? I know who wouldn't be. After all, you are spending time with the Clarke Jensen."
"You cocky little butt."
"You late loser."
"You overweight chipmunk. "
"You stupid dwarf."
"A dwarf?! Are you insinuating I'm short?!"
"What? Dwarves are cool. Like in the Hobbit."
"Yeah sure. Whatever. Anyway, I'm sorry but I-"
"See ya in ten!" He cheerily yelled before hanging up.
Oh no... I groaned. What am I gonna tell the Sidekick Squad?

After I had made some excuses about feeling sick, I rushed to the garden where Clarke was waiting. He was standing there, hands in his pockets, his grey eyes stormy and his hair looking like a halo.
He gave me a shy smile and said, "Shall we?"
We started to walk along the dusty path, flowers trailing in my wake.
I hope he doesn't notice. ..
Clarke's hand brushed against mine, as we walked along the dirt path in the garden.
"So, how long have you been in Marshall?" I wondered to Clarke.
"About 3 years. You?"
"2 days." I grinned.
"Never would've guessed." Clarke smiled as he said his sarcastic comment, making my heart flutter.
We reached the little fountain in the middle of the garden and sat on the bench beside it.
I marvelled at the garden around me, "How could anything be so beautiful? "I whispered to myself.
I felt Clarke's gaze on me, so I turn around.
An amused expression is on his face as he says softly, " Only you can be."
What's that supposed to mean?
He takes my hand and looks into my eyes.
"Zola, don't you see? We're meant to be." His blue eyes are sparkling with happiness.
"W-what? Clarke, what are you talking about?" I'm puzzled now.
"Do you not remember me? All the times we talked... when we were so close...."Clarke was in his own reverie.
"I... I-I'm sorry Clarke but I don't."
"You do. You're just not letting yourself see it." Clarke pouts. "Close your eyes, Zola and you shall see..."
I don't know why, but I do it anyway.
Images come back all at once, some stronger than others.
One in particular sticks in my mind.
A boy with fair blonde hair and a green tunic was laughing and spinning around and round.
A girl with black hair and green eyes is wearing a dress, clapping, while sitting on the soft grass on a hill. She too, is laughing.
The boy must be Clarke.
But I don't recognise the girl, maybe I was friends with them both?
The boy then stops dancing around and comes closer to the girl and tickles her.
Her screams of laughter echo in my head.
And that's when it hits me.
That girl is me.
