“So how’s your day going so far?” the welcomed voice of Jared came from behind me.

I paid for my lunch and turned to smile at him. “Busy. There’s so many. . . interesting people to put it simply.”

He nodded. “Yeah that happens a lot around here. Do you want to eat at my table or already make plans?”

“Silvia wants me to sit with her but save me please.”

I followed him to his table, a small square table in the center of the room with four chairs. It seemed like most of the other groups had pushed these tables together to make them longer and accommodate the amount of people they had.

--Kales POV--

Is she really oblivious to everyone’s’ eyes on her?  I wondered as I glared in her direction. “So is she dating Grass?”

I ignored Spencer’s question at first as Sarah fixed my collar and leaned up against me as she nibbled her lunch. “You know I’ll go ask.” I got up and headed directly for the table at which she sat smiling at Grass and laughing. Grass spotted me before she did and the annoying shine to his eyes dimmed considerably. At least he knows his place. “Grass, I was supposed to tell you something for my dad. In private.” I added as Rein looked up at me her hair sweeping across her forehead making her beautiful blue eyes stand out.

“Uh sure.” He stood up and gave her a weary smile. “Be right back.”  We took a few steps from the table and I turned so my back was to Rein. Don’t need her trying to read my lips.

“I see what you are doing here. I don’t care if you spend time with her, I really couldn’t care less. But it would be very difficult to pay for the gas it takes pick her up in the morning and drop her off after school if you don’t have a job.” I chose my words carefully making sure to get the point across. He didn’t look surprised at what I had said. “Understand?”

Grass nodded and I felt satisfied. “Yeah.”

“So when school ends?”

“I’ll tell her I can’t give her a ride home that I have to go to the hardware shop instead.” He replied blankly.

“Glad we had this chat.” I smirked and walked off and back to my table taking my spot beside Sarah. “No, they aren’t dating.” I told Spencer confidently. Another smug look came to my face as I saw Rein’s face show disappointment as Grass talked to her.

Jakeson looked over to me and pushed his hair back “So is she coming to the party?”

“Oh I think I can arrange that.”

“Skylar has his eye on her too.”

I looked up at him alarmed. Fucking Skylar, how’d he meet her? “Says who?”

“Says him. He says she seems very ‘fun’ and he’s going to have to get to know her personally.” Jakeson looked equally perturbed as I did.

“I don’t get it. Like what’s so special about her?” Sarah asked as she played with my hair.

“Nothing.” I replied but it was drowned out by the other guys at the table.

“She’s fucking hot.” Was basically what they all had to contribute. I need to get new friends. I thought with a groan as I pushed Sarah’s hand from my hair.

Sarah shrugged and played with the hem of her skirt. “I don’t think so. I mean her skirt isn’t even that short.”

It was Jakeson that replied to that comment. “Maybe you should talk her into fixing that?” I rolled my eyes. Idiots.
