Shino's POV:

It's already break time and nothing has happened in the academy so far, none of Boruto's antics, no running around in the corridors when I'm outside, no Anko-san handing over her work to me, not one summon to the principals office; this day is going way better than I expect. What can I say, Boruto's class are all Genin now. They're not in the Academy anymore. So, it is quiet and peaceful. They were a handful bunch of kids.
My next lecture starts in 20 minutes and is on the ground. I should start preparing. As soon as I arrived on the ground I saw someone lying on the entrance road, unconscious. I knew I needed to get immediate attention.
I went closer to see who it was but it wasn't a student, it was a woman. I got nervous like I usually do but her face and aura felt very familiar and I didn't even notice when I was kneeling down next to her.
I picked her up in my arms, for some reason I can't comprehend and brought her to the infirmary. Apparently, she was just dehydrated and very weak, like she hadn't eaten anything in days. They put her on a saline, fed her some food pills and I sat beside her. I requested Anko-san to take my lecture as a substitute and she agreed. I stayed by the side of this mysterious woman for about an hour before she woke up.
"Ugh... Where am I ?" She groaned. I helped her sit up. "Oh, you're awake! I'm so glad that's because everyone should care about every person should care about a person who is sick. By the way, I'm Shino, Aburame Shino" I introduced myself.
'Why? I usually don't like being with women.  I stutter and I'm incredibly shy and I can't even look at them. Why is it so different for this woman? Have I met her before?' I thought as I looked at her.
"Hi! I'm new here. I will be joining the academy from tomorrow as a teacher, thanks to Hokage-sama and Shikamaru-san." She said.
'Doesn't she have a name? Where is she from? Why is she hiding it?' I had all sorts of suspicions in my mind.
I offered to show her around when her stomach rumbled with almost a bear like growl and I knew she was hungry. I had to do something as a man and I took her to the stores outside the academy but Cho-Cho seemed to have passed by and bought mostly all of the things.
She turned back suddenly and said, " Or actually, let it be. I can't eat it rn" and I felt bad about it. I tried to ask her as to why she wasn't eating despite being so hungry and she said, "No, Shino-san. It's because I have a bad pocket. I don't have any money. I'm new and my money is over."
'I might be able to find out more if she trusts me.' I thought and I offered her the last Yakisoba bun, but obviously that wasn't going to be enough. I needed an excuse to talk to her and get more information.
She gave me the golden opportunity by asking me if I could treat her to lunch. I pounced upon the chance and agreed. At the same time, Boruto, Mitsuki and Sarada came by and Boruto seemed to know her. 'She was in the Hokage's office yesterday?' It didn't make any sense to me at that moment.
She told Boruto and his team that I was taking her to lunch and Boruto looked at me in a certain way. 'I know this look. He looks at Kiba the same way when Kiba talks about his girlfriend. Does that mean Boruto thinks she is my girlfriend?' I was petrified at the very thought of it but she turned to face me suddenly and 'That clueless innocent expression on her face, the air blowing her hair, her expectant look -What am I thinking?! I can't just trust her yet, even if she is really beautiful... I have to stop myself' I thought as we proceeded for lunch at Ichiraku's.
I asked her why she was hiding things to which she said, "I'm not hiding things, Shino-san. I just don't know them. Or rather, I don't remember them" and she told me she got examined by Ino but even then her memories haven't returned. 'She has no memories. She doesn't know who she is, she doesn't know who her family is, she doesn't know where she came from, she doesn't know where her home is. That's just sad.' I thought but her face didn't look like it at all.
I was talking to her and my worst nightmare walked in as we walked out, Kiba. We both came back to the academy and dispersed, but decided to meet again after classes. Kiba kept a close watch on the both of us.

It was almost 4 now and I was done with work. I went to the washroom, washed my face and got ready to deal with Kiba again. 'I don't know what to do with him, always so intrusive and condescending. Well, he was my teammate and a great Shinobi. So, there's that. Ugh'
It was four now and the woman was nowhere to be seen. I waited for 10 minutes, she still didn't show up. Just as I was looking at the clock she came running to me and said, "I did exactly what you asked me not to. I got lost" and giggled a little. I was just glad that she was here for some reason. I felt a mysterious comfort around her.
She asked for help to find her a new name as we walked out of the academy premises. I saw Kiba spying on us from afar, but she didn't look or behave like a Shinobi. So, I decided to keep it a secret and ignore him.
When Kiba tried to come closer to us, I just grabbed her wrist and pulled her to get going. We went to Ino's flower shop and she asked Ino for help as well.
I tried to help her too. I picked up a yellow tulip because it reminded me or her warmth and energy but it didn't sound good as a name. I tried a hibiscus but it still wasn't a good name but it looked great on her slightly tan and smooth skin.
Ino made me buy them, I bought them for her and we left the store a little disappointed.
'The Hokage's might be an inspiration and we might find something.' So, I suggested to go to the Great Stone Faces and we started walking towards the train station.
At this point, Kiba was making himself way too obvious, almost like following us openly. She suddenly placed a hand on my shoulder and asked me to get my ear closer to her face. I was upper nervous. I have never been so close to a woman's face, ever. Especially a stranger. I was blushing but I focused on what she was saying.
She had noticed Kiba too and we both walked maintaining distance until the turn and hid there. Her chest was way to close to mine. Her entire body was way too close to mine. I felt nervous and she jumped in the middle and stopped Kiba.
She had a very authoritative tone and asked him what he was doing. She told him, she was busy with me and tried to make him go away.
But Kiba being Kiba, he didn't understand and I had to ask him to leave by signing it to him. And he thought I was on a date as well, and he left with the "I hope you get some" remark which I absolutely hated.
I grabbed her wrist to make sure we weren't late for the thunder train. We barely made it in time and she sat down.
She talked about how she wasn't a Shinobi according to her, listed out all the Hokage's and other stuff.
'I can't really sit next to her, can I? Will it be okay? Will she mind it? What if it's rude? Well she think I'm being too forward?' My thoughts were broken by her voice.
"Sit down, Shino-san. Don't stand, that's because, otherwise your legs will hurt." She tried to imitate my way and tone of talking. But this was different, it wasn't mean or intended for insulting me. It was just a joke and made with care for me. I couldn't deny it and sat down.
We soon arrived at the Great Stone Faces after a short walk and sat down there. I noticed a grasshopper on her dress, but she wasn't panicking like other girls, thinking it was gross and flapping her arms around her or trying to kill it. She simply took on her hand, even talked to it for a bit, and sent it back to the forest behind us.
I was really happy and surprised with this reaction. She caught me really off guard. I asked her if she liked bugs and she told me she thought they made impossible look possible.
She didn't see bugs as something evil or filthy, she liked them and took inspiration from them. I really couldn't process this properly.
I just got up and asked her, "You lose your memories right?" To which she nodded. There was no chance like this, she wouldn't remember it, I wouldn't have to bear it. There's no chance better than this.
I mustered up all my courage and hugged her, hugged her as tight as I have never hugged anyone. It was sudden for her as well, but she didn't demand an explanation.
When I hugged her, I felt a familiar feeling of intrusiveness. I could see Kiba and Akamaru in the distance, and I needed to escape. There was no other way.
I asked her to hold me tight and I scooped her up and went hoping on from roof to roof, aimlessly. Kiba was turning into a real pain.
She pointed towards the hotel she was staying in and we landed in the terrace. It was a fairly talk building and we could see the sunset. Suddenly, I remember that we needed a name for her. I remembered the feeling I got while hugging her, a sense of purity, happiness and safety. I was at happy when I hugged her at the sunset. 'That's it! Sunset!' I thought in my mind. "Hinoiri" I mumbled as I thought she wouldn't like it. But in fact, she really liked it and decided that it was going to be her new name. She was really appreciative of the effort but also a little clumsy.
As soon as I turned around to leave, she tore her dress a little and fell flat on her face. I helped her up and her nose started bleeding. She put her handkerchief on it, but even after a considerable amount of time, it wasn't stopping. I was getting worried and I took her to the hospital forcefully.
After what Sakura informed me, I was totally confused. Later she said that it wasn't a choice but a mission. I had to let her move in my house so, I could take care of her until her memories returned.
