[ 1 day before your arrival]

Shino's POV:

"Boruto really needs to control his antics, that's because otherwise he might end up getting in deep trouble." I thought to myself as I prepared for my next class.
"Shino-san! Can you take my lecture after yours? I have to leave early for some urgent work." She said as Anko-san fiddled through the set of papers in her hand.
"Ofcourse, Anko-san." I didn't mind because she had a nice quiet class who I liked to teach.
She left and I took my lecture in my noisy but fun class. Later, I went over to Anko-san's class and started teaching.
Just while leaving the class, I heard some whispers from the kids. "You know, the Jounin found a mysterious woman lying on the streets near the gate. They are saying she might be dangerous." I ignored these for a while because rumours keep going around and you can't do anything about it. That's because, even if you stop one path it takes the other one like water.
I packed up my things in my leather bag and left the academy premises.
Just outside, someone who I actually am not very find of arrived.
"Oh! Shino!" He called out in his usual energetic and slightly condescending tone.
"Hello, Kiva. I actually have to be home now, I have a lot of academy work to do." I said very obviously avoiding conversation which never really seemed to get into his beast brain.
"Well, you can do that later! Let's have some fun together. I would let you go, if you had something actually important to do, like prepare for a date or something. But oh! You're too socially awkward to do that!" He laughed.
"Well, there's that too but I have work to do as well." I said just so he'd let me go. This is near the end of the month! I would really like you to let me work in peace because this is salary time.
"Hein?!" He asked with a surprise, "You have to prepare for a date?!" And he started laughing.
"Ofcourse. Me and my g-g-g-girlfriend are going on a-a-a d-d-d-date tomorrow. So, I won't be able to see you tomorrow, Kiba." I bluffed because I wasn't going to see him tomorrow anyway, but still, the way he laughed and was surprised really hurt my feelings.
"Well then Shino, let me help you prepare for you so called 'date'" he remarked. I didn't really understand how he could be so insensitive to not care about my feelings or be dumb to not understand my attempts to avoid conversation with him.
He grabbed me by the shoulder and started off into the unknown.
"So, how does she look?"
"Beautiful" I replied having found nothing else.
"Okay. What does she like?"
"Flowers, sunsets and walks" I said like a parrot which a magazine said that Anko-san showed me once.
"Mmhmm. I think I have made a plan for you." He said with his typical 'I-have-come-up-with-a-genius-idea' expression. "What you can do is" he continued, "First, take her to lunch somewhere nice. Then, take her to Ino's flower shop and get her some flowers because she likes them. Lastly, carry her up in your arms and take her somewhere where you can enjoy the sunset"
"Okay." I said. 'Does he really not understand? He just put a stereotypical date and the things I said in that order.' I thought, but there wasn't any point arguing with him.
"So, now that you don't have anything important to do because you are done planning your date, let's go eat something together" he grinned evilly.
'I can't believe I fell for something like that!' I thought to myself as I had gotten myself into a trap. 'No. I am not giving up. I will go home and work in peace, that's because that's what I want to do.'
"No, Kiba. I cannot spend time with you as of now, that's because I have academy work to do, and I have to prepare myself for the date." I said continuing the bluff because as it is, now I was neck deep in it anyway.
"Okay. What does she like about you?" Kiba asked as I started walking home and I knew I needed to keep the conversation going as long as I reach near my home. So, I pretended to think hard.
"Me?" I said thinking about what any girl would possibly like in me.
"Well, then. Go as yourself." He said trying to stop walking.
"But then again, I don't want the date to be flop, that's because I don't want to waste her time." I said loudly as I walked ahead.
"You won't. Just give her what she likes." He said getting anxious, catching up with me.
"But then-"
"Oi Shino, stop doubting yourself. You'll do great on tomorrow's date." He said smiling at me and somehow it was not the usual, but a more kind smile.
"Thank you, Kiba" I said and noticed my home was close, "Oh! Sorry Kiba! We reached my home. Would you like to wait until I finish my paperwork?" I said knowing how much Kiba hates paperwork.
"Nope. It's okay. I'll leave you to it. Go on. Do you boring paperwork." He said as he and Akamaru left.
'Thank goodness' I thought as I entered my home, which was now very lonely. I didn't live in the old house as it reminded me of mom and dad and their deaths in the war. 'Well, atleast I can be myself now' I thought.
I made some supper, ate it, cleaned the dishes, changed into pajamas and started off with the paperwork. It wasn't a big task, but it was important and Iruka-san trusted me more with paperwork than anyone else.
By the time I finished the paperwork, it was already past 10. I quickly made and had some dinner and lay down on my bed after cleaning everything up and stacking my paperwork.
'What if I actually went on a date tomorrow? That would be really funny. What am I thinking?! Why will I just randomly go on a date? And with who?! And why?! And' I was freaking out thinking about something Kiba put in my head. I laughed it off and slept for the night.
