Maddie's POV:
I put on my white lace sweater as I looked outside. I twisted my hair up and sighed. I was enrolling into the local highschool today and didn't want to be late. Taking one last look out the window, I hoped I wouldn't draw too much attention to the other students.

It was raining today, and today school would start late. I hurriedly ate my bagel then picked up my skate board and backpack, heading outside. The rain was pouring, but I didn't care. Speeding on my skateboard down to school, I got there in less than 10 minutes.

I quickly used my powers to become completely dry, and I walked into the building. I looked at the sign "main office" and I went inside. I rang the little bell on the counter, and watched the short lady walk over to the desk. It felt like a hotel.

"You must be Maddie," she says.

"Yea," I say. "I called last night and enrolled into the school. I think someone told me that I should come here to get my schedule, books, and locker..."

"Of course!" She says, interrupting me. "Here you go!" She says, handing me a piece of paper with my schedule, then another number which said my locker number and combination. "Your teachers will give you your books."

"Thanks."

"Have a nice first day sugar!"

I walk to my locker and put in my backpack and keep my pencil case, 3 binders, and 4 notebooks. Walking to my first classroom, I figure I'm early and go to each of my classrooms to get what I will need- books, seating arrangements, etc. I head back to my first classroom and sit down in my assigned seat. The teacher isn't here anymore, but at least 15 students are here. I hope they don't notice me, but I feel a hand on my arm.

"Woah. What's your name? I'm Sam by the way, the football captain. I have never seen you around," he says.

"Hi," I say. "I'm Maddie. I'm new."

Suddenly a girl comes into the room with her friends and stares me down.

"What are you doing with my boyfriend?"

"Talking?" I reply.

"How dare you!" She yells.

"Im sorry if talking is such a crime."

She sets her jaw in place. "Well then, just remember that he is mine, and always will be."

"Works for me," I mutter.

She glares at me, and I reply with a smile.
The teacher then walks into the room, and I'm surprised that only that jerk of a girl and Sam had noticed me. Smiling to myself, I hope that I will fit in. It won't be too hard if barely anyone noticed me. Right?

"Maddie please come up to the front of the room to introduce yourself. Everyone meet Maddie and try to be a
nice class," he says sternly.

I smile. "Hi. My name is Madison Pelham, but you can call me Maddie."

I don't know who it was, but they shouted out at me, "what's your story?"

I sighed. "My parents died a few years ago and we were a really rich family. Billionaires, to be exact. I am left with their wealth, and I live alone now."

The jerk girl was staring at me with her eyebrows slanted.

"Liar!"

"Sit down Marie," Sam whispered.

"Whatever," she replied, shooting a hateful glance at me.

So her name was Marie. That was my mom's name- Marie Pelham. Quickly walking back to my desk, I kept a straight and blank face, walking past all of the boys gawking at me, and one even touched me when I walked back. I glared at him, and he smirked back, winking at me. Rolling my eyes in disgust, I sat down, looking at the board. At the top right hand corner, it said Mr. Qingsworth. I felt everyone who sat behind me staring at me, and I sighed in exasperation. This is going to be a long day.

Walking into the really loud room that said "cafeteria" on a small sign next to the door, I walked in. The sight in the room was unbelievable. Boys were eating like dogs, and girls were putting on makeup. But something almost everyone was doing was eating. I noticed a half empty table, and sighed in relief. Walking over to the table, I sat down next to a girl with a pixie hair cut and read a book, placing my bag on the ground. I suddenly felt many pairs of eyes on me. Looking up, I noticed the boys staring at me with lust, and the girls with envy.

"Great job at staying hidden," I said in my head to myself.

Pushing back my chair, I walked outside. The cool air felt good against my ice cold skin as I walked into the forest. I needed blood, and I promised myself to never kill a human or drink human blood after I found so many innocent humans dead. Knowing I'm too far for anyone to see me, I ran off into the forest at an inhuman speed for anything at 729 mph. Fast right?

This is the first book I ever wrote, and I hope you enjoyed my first chapter. I am sorry if the English isn't that great, but I tried some my best. Comment what you thought of it! Thanks.
