Z's POV
The day had finally arrived. The day everything changed for the world when we were trying to find our way through the Tear. I sat on a bench, pretending to read the paper in my hands. Axel had warded the area to deter humans from entering it. Violet and Talos were back at the house, protecting Alanna, while Silver was walking about invisibly, and Axel was having coffee with Cherif. The twins looked like two college kids studying for a test on another bench. Drako sat under the shade of a tree with a book in his hands. Many more were around the area in case we needed the back up.
When we saw it walk into place, Axel activated the Ward it stepped on. It began to panic when it realized it was us. When it was completely sealed in a magical bubble we approached it.
"I see the King walks in this time freely," it said, its voice instantly making us growl. The thing who tortured my mate for days on end. I watched the recording repeatedly, memorizing everything it did to my mate, so I could repay the favor tenfold. "How is my speciemen doing," it asked, smiling widely, showing off its sharpened teeth. It then looked at the twins, "I see I failed to kill the two of you." They growled and went to launch forward but Drako caught them by the back of their shirts. "Cool it boys, it's trying to get you to attack its container so it can go free," he told them. It calmed them only a fraction.
So it was the reason we had to turn the twins. We never did learn about what happened. I could tell by the anger in their eyes, it did more than try to kill them. After all, they had been missing for a while, and when they had been found they would've bled out within minutes if it just tried to kill them.
I had the others take it away while I took the twins some where private to talk. "What happened that day you were turned," I asked them. "It attacked us," Jaden said while Jay crossed his arms. "Apparently it had been followin' us, thinkin' we were someone else. After hearin' Allie's story, it's clear he was lookin' for her. He never said her name, just asked us where his specimen was as he tortured us. We were honest when we said we didn't know, which is why it tried to kill us and continue its hunt for her," Jay explained.
"And we didn't tell Allie because we didn't want her to go on some crazy ass hunt lookin' for it," Jaden finished while running his hand through his hair. "She's gonna be angrier than a hornet trapped in a mason jar when she finds out that we hid it to begin with." "She has enough right now on her plate, this stays between us," I informed them.
"That's not exactly a smart idea," Jay told me. I nodded, "I am aware of that." I then took them home where we saw Violet, Kelsi, and Alanna in the living room going over tile for the kitchen back splash. Alanna smiled when she saw me, "How did it go?" It was clear as day that she had been worried. There was no reason for her to be worried. Its wasted energy. "That thing that hurt you in New York was the one responsible," I told her. Her eyes widened, "What happened?" "We captured it and the others took it away," I told her. "Was anyone hurt," she asked softly. I shook my head, "No." Pure relief came into her eyes as the tension left her body.
I noticed Kelsi and Violet left the room so we could be alone. I pulled Alanna to me. She buried her face into my chest, "It's finally over." She said before she sniffled, indicating she was crying. I buried a hand in her hair, as my other hand wrapped around her waist. I let her cry out her tears of relief. She was always safe with me, and she knew it, but knowing completely certain that the thing of her nightmares can't get to her, gives her another kind of feeling of relief.
When she looked up at me, I wiped the tears from her face. I then kissed her. She moaned softly as my tongue invaded into her mouth. Then the others appeared. I growled at them. They quickly left the living room, not wanting to be feel my claws, and Alanna laughed softly.
