Twenty Two

Arlie was walking out of her apartment when Tyler walked four of his.

They both made eye contact before Arlie broke it and started walking to the elevator.

She got in and clicked the first floor but before the doors could close Tyler ran inside.

"Hey." He said.

"Hi..." She responded.

"How are you feeling? You know with the baby..."

"Fine."

"So where are you going?"

"Out, you?"

"Practice."

The doors opened.

She was the first to walk out to try and get away from the awkward situation.

"Wanna come over tonight?" Tyler asked as he followed her out.

"You don't have to do this."

"Do what?"

"Whatever this is, it's ok to be mad or frustrated at me. I'm mad at me too."

"Can we talk about this tonight?"

"I don't want to talk about it Ty. I can't handle it."

"Well I should get going then..."

"Yeah me too...."

He turned to walk the opposite way when she had a change of heart.

"Ty!" She called out.

He turned around.

"I'll see you at 8!" She said.

He gave her a slight smiled before they both walked off to their cars.

Arlie went over to Elle's house and they both hung out by the pool.

"So how are you feeling?" Elle asked.

"Disgusting." Arlie said.

Elle laughed, "Morning sickness?"

"More like all day sickness."

"I hate to ask but how's you and Tyler?"

"It's alright but we're...I don't know. He wants me to go over tonight."

"And Duncan?"

"He came over yesterday."

"You didn't sleep with him did you?"

Arlie laughed, "No I swear I didn't."

"So what happened?"

"We spent that whole day talking."

"About?"

"Us...Everything really."

"How'd it make you feel?"

"I don't know. I don't know how to feel at all."

"Don't over think it. Listen to yourself, if you go to one guy more than the other then you know who you have to be with."

"But why do I have to feel this way towards Duncan?"

"Well have you always felt this way or was it seeing another girl with him?"

She stayed quiet.

"Which one was it?" Elle asked again.

"I've always felt this way."
