"You good?" Aniyah asked as she hit the break once we got to the stop sign.

"Yeah. Just a little nervous." I answered truthfully.

"About what?" Kiana asked.

"Seeing D'andre and just the match in general, but Mostly D'andre." I said.

Today came by so quick. It was the day of the big basketball match and I was so pumped cause we were going to cheer, But at the same time I was so nervous to see D'andre.

We finally arrived at school and there were so many people dressed in the team colors and ready to support and watch the game. The opposing team also had some dedicated supporters.

We joined the rest of the cheer team in our assigned locker rooms, got into our 'cheer gear' and did a little huddle before we headed out onto the court.

As we deserted the locker rooms, I spotted D'andre standing with Xavier and his other team mates in the hallway. I wanted to go to and maybe say something, but I didn't have any guts and confidence.

It's like that moment when u wanna say something but your mouth physically restricts you from doing so in some weird way. You try and try and try, but the words just won't come out.

So, I just passed him without saying anything, and I felt so terrible. My heart was telling me to turn back and at least smile at him, but my mind told me the opposite.

Remember at the diner when I was all like "I'm going to start following my heart."

Well... I'm failing at that.

"So, you're just going to pass by without saying anything. Not even a smile or a, %hey how are u doin'? Just pass by. I'd be okay with an insult even." D'andre sneaked besides me and said.

"Oh hey, how did you get here. I'm so sorry. I didn't want to interrupt you and your friends/ teammates." I said.

Speaking to him felt so nerve wrecking, but it was relieving to know that we were on good terms, and that the party incident didn't make things awkward.

Well... I kinda already knew that, judging by all his texts. I just wanted to see how he'd react to me face to face.

"Nah. You wouldn't be interrupting me." He added. "Really?" I asked.

"Yeah. Just seeing you pass by and not even look at me made my heart drop down to the ground, but now that we're talking it's back to normal." "You picked it up and put it in place." He said. I felt so flattered. I couldn't even hold back my smile.

D'andre makes me so happy. Still today I ask myself what I did to deserve him.

"Stop. You making me blush." I admitted.
