"Ouch!" I gasped, sitting up and looking around. Terrence's room was empty and dark, the door left open for light, just as I'd left it when I'd fallen asleep. I rubbed my cheek with a frown of confusion, the pain had faded now but my cheek still stung softly.
Had I hit my face on something? Sitting up I sighed and stretched my arms and legs before standing up.
When I walked out, I noticed Terrence sitting on the couch.
"Terrence?" I asked and he looked over at me.
"Hm?"
"Did you just get back?" I asked walking over.
"A little while ago." He told me and I hummed rubbing my cheek again with a small frown.
"Something wrong?"
"My cheek hurts."
He stood up raising a brow.
"Did you hit something?" He asked and I shook my head.
"I dunno, maybe. Anyways, I was planning on going on a run, it's been a while since I've even been outside."
"I'll go with you." Terrence said quickly but I shook my head again.
"No it's ok Terrence, I'll be fine."
"But what about Jacob?" He asked and I paused.
"He likes to go on morning jogs." He pointed out making me frown.
"Around here?"
"No, but what if you run into him? What will you do?"
I rubbed my arm, he had a point.
"But, aren't you tired?" I asked and he shook his head.
"I can sleep when we get back."
I couldn't help but doubt his honesty there, he almost never slept, but when he did, it was nearly for 14 hours straight some times.
Still, I allowed him to come along as I ran around outside. The trees were pretty tall in this part of the forest, and there didn't seem to be anyone for miles, then again, a werewolf could traverse a mile faster than any car. Terrence kept up pretty easily, I didn't know if that was because of his vampire traits doubling his speed, or the fact that I wasn't a full werewolf. Either way, I tried not to make it into a race.
After a little while of just exercising my legs, I stopped for a second to look around us. There wasn't too much shrubbery around us and I could see pretty far through the trees.
"This place is beautiful." I smiled softly while looking over at Terrence. He blinked at my expression before looking away some.
"Thank you."
I hummed with a small nod before spinning around and then looking around again. Suddenly, I felt hands on my arms and barely let out a yelp when I was yanked behind a tree.
Terrence pressed me against the trunk, leaning close, but he wasn't looking at me. I blinked up at him, confused but quiet as he peered carefully around the tree.
"Is it-"
"Shh."
I pressed my lips together sheepishly as he continued to stare, my arms were growing very warm with how close he was, In fact my front felt as though it had been exposed to fire. Terrence didn't seem to notice, In fact his grip tightened a little. He saw someone.
"Terrence.." I whispered shutting my eyes tightly, the warmth turning to heat.
"Shh." He murmured very quietly, I felt a shiver go down my spine. It was a painful few minutes before he seemed to relax, just a little.
"Terrence." I said again, my hands clenched.
The were-vamp looked at me before letting go and stepping back.
"You ok?" He asked with a frown, I nodded, but hugged myself. I suddenly felt so very cold without the heat, it was both relieving, and saddening.
"We should get back." He told me and I nodded softly.
"Y-Yeah.."
