Gale | He Gets You a Pet

A/N: So this is just an imagine I got from my other Hunger Games Imagine book before I deleted it so yeah.

You woke up and immediately heard sounds of faint meows echoing around your house. You had been in bed for days after your younger sister got reaped for The Hunger Games. You tried to ignore the sound, but your curiosity got the best of you and you got up out of bed and walked around the small house, trying to find out where the sound was coming from. You followed the sound upstairs and found that it was coming from your spare room. You opened the door and saw a small brown cardboard box on the floor. You walked over to the box and opened it, seeing a small, starved look, orange and brown kitten inside. You carefully picked it up, feeling it squirm in your arms, and stroked its soft fur.

You felt Gale wrap his arms around your waist and smiled."Is she for me?"

"Actually, it's a he. And, yes, he's for you.

"How did you get him?"

"From Greasy Sae. She had him in the back of her store and gave one for me in return for all the meat I gave her over the years."

"You didn't have to get him for me."

"Yes, I did. I got him for you to make you happy since you've been sad since..." He trailed off.

"Since Lora got reaped for the games," I finished for him.

"Yes."

You smiled and looked down at the small kitten in your arms. "Well, thank you. He's adorable."

He smiled. "I knew you'd like him. What are you going to call him?"

You thought for a moment. "I don't know yet."

"How about Theo, after your father."

I nodded. "That sounds great." My father, Theodore, had died a few years ago in an accident.

Soon, Theo was healthier thanks to the meat that Gale hunted. A few weeks later, after the games, your sister came home and you all got to live in The Victor's Village together. Even with Gale there, you probably wouldn't have gotten over your depression without Theo, who came to you every time you were feeling down and you could never repay Gale for getting him for you.
