-Shayne's PoV-

"Court are you ready?" I called getting a little irritated. I wasn't one for being late and Courtney wasn't one for being early.

A rumbled came from the bathroom and it sounded like the whole place was being turned upside down. "I'm almost ready." Courtney popped her head around the corner of the door smiling at me.

"I'll put our stuff in the car." I shouted over the sound of her electric toothbrush now. She was not 'almost ready'.

I walked back up the steps to my apartment and oh yeah she was still in the bathroom. No sign of her being ready.

"Hey so you know when I said yesterday 'you can stay over only if we are on time to work tomorrow' and you agreed? Yeah I'm never believing you again." I sat at the table waiting for her to finish up.

Eventually she appeared, make-up on, outfit on looking really freaking cute.

"Would you stop complaining?" A smirk appeared on her face that broke out into laughter. "You wanted me to stay..." she lent towards me and kissed me gently.

"I swear if this is one thing that gets us caught out at work then I'm going to kill you." I grabbed my keys and we headed out of the apartment towards my car.

"You wouldn't kill me, your life would be so boring without me in it." She teases. "Besides, no one will think anything of it!" Courtney giggled getting into the passenger seat and buckling up as I started to pull out of the space. "You won't even be late! I might be!" She complained.

We had a system to keep these... meetings private. If we stayed over at each other's houses then I'd drive Courtney to her house and she'd drive into work herself.

It was a sure way of never getting found out at work. Which was the main thing really...

I pulled up at her house and she gave me a quick kiss before getting her things out of the back and putting them in her own car. "See ya at work." She mumbled shutting the car door.

I nodded at her and smiled, driving off.

There was a reason we went through all this effort. A reason we lied to everyone we loved. 

A contract actually.

We were not allowed to date other employees. And we weren't dating. We were just really good friends with... benefits.

It wasn't like we'd been lying to our friends the whole time or anything. We had only gotten together a few weeks back when Courtney broke up with her boyfriend and well we decided to just keep it quiet until we knew what it was ourselves.

I knew what she meant to me but I had no idea what Courtney thought. She was going through something when we got together. She just broke up with a boyfriend, for all I knew I was just her rebound.

"Shayne, you're late." Ian remarked as I walked into the office just after 9.

"Yeah I overslept, sorry." I sighed looking around to see if Courtney was here yet.

"No problem you're never later Shayne it was a joke." Ian laughed at me as I'd taken his remark seriously.

"Where is everyone?" I asked looking around for the rest of the squad.

"They're out back waiting for the coach." Ian said as he was typing something on his computer last minute.

We were heading off for Smosh Summer Games Apocalypse and I guess he had last minute emails to attend to.
