Benjamin's POV

He stretched before opening his eyes and peering over at the gorgeous man that lay sleeping next to him. He kissed his forehead then got out of bed. He grabbed his clothes and a towel and turned on the shower. The hot water felt amazing,  stinging his skin softly. He knew it would be a week before the next time could shower, the trail amenities were primitive so he indulged for a few extra minutes of hot water and body wash.

"Goodmorning Benji" he heard, feeling  strong arms wrap around him. He turned around and greeted Tyler with a kiss.

"Good morning love". He smiled. "Sleep well?". Tyler merely hummed his answer.

As they washed each other they talked about  their plans for the day, starting with breakfast and getting on the road. They wanted to get to the first campsite early enough to set up and make dinner.

They packed quickly and were on the highway to Port Renfrew by 6 am with breakfast sandwiches and coffee from drive thru. The two hour drive along the coast was stunning and the time passed quickly with their back and forth banter and Benjamin's playlist which they often sang along to.

They arrived in Port Renfrew shortly after 8am and had to wait until 8:45 for their shuttle to take them to the trail head in Bamfield. There were a few other hikers waiting for the shuttle and  they struck up conversation learning they were traveling from Australia and had done several hikes in British Columbia in the past two months.

They arrived at the trail head in Bamfield shortly before 1pm and wished the other hikers good luck before they headed off. It was a lot of effort to get to the trail but the trip would be so worth it.

The hike was flat and easy, a comfortable walk, but they both knew that the rest of the trail was to be intense. There are over 100 wooden  ladders, bridges and cable cars. The trail winds through the rainforest of Vancouver Island and the beach of the Pacific Ocean.

They were well prepared for the inevitable rain and since Benjamin had hiked the trail the summer before he was knowledgeable in what to pack and what to expect.

He knew that Tyler would have an amazing experience and the two would grow even closer, although it was hard to imagine them being any closer than they ready were.

They decided to pass by Michigan Creek campground since it wasn't as sandy as Darling campground and there was plenty of driftwood for a fire at the next campground that was only 2 miles away so they pushed forward.

They made good time and quickly set up their tent. Tyler fixed the airmattress, sleeping bags and tarp while Benjamin got started on the campfire and supper.

Tyler's POV

He peeked out of the tent and watched his sweet boyfriend walk along the beach picking up bits of driftwood for the fire. He thought back to the night before and smiled broadly. Yes it was hot and sexy and satisfying, it was all of that BUT to actually feel like their souls had merged, it was so intense and full of love. It was beyond his expectations.

He loved that silly man who quoted Queen far too often, worries a ridiculous amount and insists on wearing that awful red Nike headband when they go jogging. He wouldn't trade him for the world. For Tyler, Benjamin was a perfect match for him. Caring, sexy, thoughtful, same interests, same principals, someone he could trust.

He watched Benjamin light the fire and although it took a few attempts he got it lit. Tyler thought back to a time when the smell of a campfire would send him into a full blown panic attack.

The memories that he had tried to push back were at the forefront since Karen had made her unfortunate appearance. He still hadn't talked to Benjamin about it and the older man never pushed him. That was another reason that he loved him, he gave him the space and didn't pry.

Now is the time, Tyler thought. It is safe to tell him. He won't judge me, I can trust him. The decision was made, he would tell Benjamin about his childhood, his parents, his cherished brother, everything that he had hidden so well would be on the table.

He crawled out of the tent and made his way towards him. Wrapping his arms around his neck and gently placing a kiss on him he smiled.

"I will help with dinner". He said. Benjamin just laughed. "Ok, you have a choice, grab two portioned foil trays and put them on the rack above the fire or find the forks in my pack.

"Forks!" Tyler said and hurried to the tent. They settled comfortably on a log and enjoyed their dinner.
