"YOU'RE OBSESSED WITH TIKTOK," Johnny rolled his eyes, watching his younger sister and her friend blast the Renegade music for the tenth time in the past minute.
"Shut up John!" Lauren, Johnny's sister, responded. "You're just insecure because people would make fun of you at school if you did it with us," Lauren snickered, unclipping a rainbow clip from her hair and placing it on her friend Nadia's shirt.
"We both know that's not true," Nadia answered Lauren sheepishly. Nadia was right in all fairness. Johnny was the poster child of their LA High School. Quarterback of the football team, straight A student. Somehow, the kid didn't have any flaws. Everything he did was cool and everything he stopped doing was weird. It was just always like that.
"Whatever Nads. Don't take his side," Lauren said, grabbing Nadia's hand and bringing her upstairs.
It was always hard for Lauren in high school, being the twin of the guy every girl was obsessed with. Girls would constantly use her to get close to Johnny which made making new friends an impossible task. Aside from Nadia and a few other girls Lauren knew for years, she couldn't really trust anyone. In most cases, they'd just use her.
As soon as Lauren went upstairs, Johnny swiftly took his phone out from his back pocket. Making sure his volume was on the lowest setting, he opened TikTok, the app he criticized others for having. Though Johnny was a trendsetter, nothing he said could stop the TikTok epidemic, and it was about time he stepped in on the trend as well.
"Okay, uh. Create an account and make a username. Should be easy," Johnny said to himself, typing in johnorlando as his username. "Taken?" He sighed his head in confusion. His name wasn't that common, how was it taken?
After a few more tries, he finally created his account, orlando02, and hit the create button. After adding in a profile picture and following his friends, he set his account on private and waited. Within seconds, hundreds of requests from kids at his school filled his notifications, causing his phone to buzz rapidly.
"What have I done?" He slapped himself in the head, throwing his phone on his couch.
