"JOHN! SHE'S HERE!" The two girls screeched, running onto the field and tackling Johnny before the game started. He turned around, his jersey weighing down on his chest, with confusion.

"What the hell, the game is starting in three minutes?" Johnny raised his eyebrows, staring at Lauren and Nadia. The entire school was spread out celebrating the festivities, but soon their attention would be solely on the field.

"Go say hi, she's sitting right there!" Lauren pointed to Kenzie who was sitting with her friends. When Kenzie saw Lauren pointing, she waved, then slowly put her hand down after seeing Johnny beside her.

"Uh yeah, I will later," Johnny rolled his eyes. "I kind of have a game to deal with right now," Johnny said, shoving Lauren away.

"At least wave to her, damn John." Nadia crossed her arms, following Lauren back to the bleachers. Johnny rolled his eyes once again, wanting his sister and Nadia to leave him alone.

"That wasn't awkward at all," Emily smirked, seeing how Kenzie turned away once she saw Johnny.

"Quit the bullshit," Joshua said, "Just say hi to him,"

"She won't. Sis is a pussy," Mandla said.

"Guys! Emily," Kenzie said, as Emily was on the verge of tears from the cursing. "And I'm not scared, literally watch." Kenzie said with a boost of confidence.

"Uh oh," Emily whispered, as Kenzie stood up from her seat.

"Johnny!" She yelled, peering out onto the field where Johnny stood tying his shoes. He turned around, expecting to see Lauren and Nadia, or any other girl obsessed with him, but instead, he saw Kenzie's smiling face.

"Goodluck," Kenzie mouthed, sitting back down. Johnny smiled back, making a heart symbol with his hands, and patting his chest. He was happy she said hi, even though things were left awkward the night before.

"Okay, big moves girl," Mandla said, shocked that Kenzie got up. Behind her, a bunch of Northside girls glared.

"The fuck you looking at" Mandla yelled, flailing his arms in the air until they looked away.

"Hey, can we sit here?" Kenzie, Mandla, Emily, and Joshua looked up to see Lauren and Nadia behind them. There were two spaces left right behind them that they'd been planning to put their food on.

"Uh– it's occupied," Mandla sassed, causing Lauren and Nadia to awkwardly smile and nod.

"No no, Mandi, that's Johnny's sister and friend. They're cool," Kenzie said, patting the seat so they came to sit.

"Thank you!" Nadia smiled, sitting down next to Lauren.

"So, how nervous is Johnny?" Emily turned around. "I'm Emily by the way,"

"Nervous," Lauren laughed. "How do you know him?" Lauren asked.

"Everyone knows him at our school," Emly chuckled, pointing to Johnny doing jumping jack's on the field. "02 is famous,"

"Right," Lauren smiled. "I just hope he wins or he might make the list. I would just feel so bad," Lauren said sadly.

"He's too good. Even if they lose which they won't, I'm sure he won't be put on." Nadia answered, calming Lauren's worries down.

"I always wondered about that list. Like is there a reason for it?" Joshua asked them, placing the bridge of his hand under his chin.

"It's been around since we were Freshmen. No one knows who it is, but it's someone that's been on the team for all 4 years. Johnny said he once saw the list before they put it up. It's so mean," Nadia answered Joshua. Joshua nodded.

"Ew look," Mandla pointed out in the field. Ashton and the Manatees were in position, jumping in the air looking for cheers. On the far right side of the field, Lexi was screaming his name, blowing kisses.

"Is that Lexi Jayde?" Lauren asked Kenzie who nodded.

"Shouldn't you know?" Kenzie asked.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Lauren responded– she really didn't know what Kenzie meant.

"I mean since Johnny and Lexi are apparently close," Kenzie shrugged, crumpling her bag of popcorn.

"Oh hell nah," Nadia said. "Lauren, he said he doesn't like her right?" Nadia asked Lauren, tapping her elbow.

"Lexi started commenting weird stuff on his posts, he was just nice back." Lauren stated, smiling when she saw the look of relief on Kenzie's face.

"Did you just say stuff?" Emily asked smiling.

"As opposed to?" Lauren responded confused.

"She's just glad you don't curse like us," Joshua smiled, referring to him and Mandla.

"Oh, I do," Lauren covered her mouth. "You don't?" She asked Emily.

"No," Emily said self-consciously, looking at her toes. Lauren, Nadia, Joshua, and Mandla chuckled to themselves, leaving Emily to feel awkward once again.

"Hey Em, don't worry," Kenzie hugged her. "She'll be in heaven while we're all in hell," Kenzie smiled, causing everyone– including Emily to laugh again. Emily was so thankful to have a best friend as considerate as Kenzie.

"–Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Cheetah vs. Manatee football game of 2020! Who will win? We'll find out tonight!" The loudspeaker boomed, as everyone covered their ears.

Ashton smirked devilishly at Johnny, who angrily glared back.

Game on.
