Chapter Five

I woke up the next day when I heard this rustle sound over my side table, slowly opening my eyes and saw Maya preparing something.

"Good morning! Breakfast is ready!" Maya said smiling like the way she always do. Maya, really knows how to catch your attention.

"Hey! Your so early to drop by." I tiredly said, slowly sitting on the edge of my bed. "Wow! That's smells so good." I added.

"Yea! To good for a guy like you." She said and I gave her a, "What do you mean?" look while my eyebrows meet. "Yea! You didn't even replied to me last night." She said punching my shoulder.

"Ouch! That hurts!" I said faking it.

"You deserve that!" Maya said smirking.

"I read your message but because I was so tired and…" I paused to whether say the word or not, "So curious about something so I end up, sleeping." I said sarcastically.

"Curious about what?" She asked.

"The thought why is everyone keeping something from me." I said trying to hit her maybe she'll speak up something and told me, but I guess, I just underestimated Maya on that. She is tough.

"Is that all your thinking the whole night?" Maya said smirking. "Is there anything like special than that?" She added,

"Hmmm… Yea! This is more special than that." I said, "Doctor Moore said by these coming weekend I'm good for discharge." I added.

"Oh my gosh! Really?" Maya said hugging me. "I can't wait to see you going back to work and on your life again." She added.

"Of course!" I simply answered. "So! We've never talked a lot this few weeks. How are you?" I asked.

"Well! I'm doing great!" Maya said, "I'm almost done with my workshop and…" She paused giving me a weird look.

"What's with that face?" I said giving her mean but nice look.

"You remember, Landon?" Maya said. Landon, our schoolmate back in college but also an amazing student buddy leader.

"What about him?" I asked curiously and, "Wait! Are you two… Dating?" I added.

"No! We're not really into dating yet but we're already talking and meeting sometimes." Maya said. This is what I love about Maya, she shares things to me like I'm his big brother which is so adorable.

"Well! Landon, is a great guy, as far as I can remember when we worked together on our research papers. His smart and funny. You will definitely like him." I said.

"Wow! I thought you want to argue with me." Maya said smiling.

"No! Of course not! It's your choice and I don't want to block anyone from your life. Remember, I'm just your big brother type and I just want to make sure you're happy." I said and she hugged me.

"Why didn't I have a brother like you." She said smiling.

"Because your mom and dad didn't make one." I said smirking.

"Whatever, Roran Sanders!" Maya said slow punching my face.

"Urgh!" I said as if she bit me.

"Roran Sanders, knockout!" Maya said and we both laugh.
