MIN Y.

It had barely turned 04:00 when my alarm vibrated in my wrist, and I woke from my slumber. I felt a groan resonate in my throat as I closed my hand into a fist, turning off the alarm. It was dark in my barrack, but I didn't bother with turning a light on. My eyesight was well enough adapted that I could see shapes clearly, even in the dark.

I slipped out of my bed quietly, making sure I didn't wake up Tae. He was my barrack mate, and he tended to be a light sleeper, especially when we had a mission coming up. I headed to the men's shower station, towel, clean pair of boxers, and t-shirt in hand.

I quickly stripped and took my cold shower, as we never got hot water. It only took me five minutes; I already shaved the night before, so I only needed to wash my hair and body. I tugged what clothes I had brought with me back on.

When I got back to my barrack, Tae was sitting up in bed, and he offered me a simple wave. "Good morning Tae," I responded. I went over to my little locker and started pulling out a clean uniform for me to wear, as well as a duffle bag and other clean uniforms.

A sock hit me in the head as I was packing my duffle bag. I looked over at Taehyung and glared slightly. He motioned for me to turn the lights on. Lazy ass, I thought as I rolled my eyes and reached for the light. I closed my eyes before flicking the switch, and upon doing so I coming from where Taehyung was perched on his bed.

I opened my eyes again and chuckled. "You asked for the light on fool. Should've closed your eyes." I glanced over as he rolled his eyes at me, and I chuckled to myself.

Not too long after packing our things, we ventured out to meet Gen. Kim and LT Jeon at the stables. Once we made it to the gates I spotted Jeon jogging towards us. He waved and slowed down once he was close enough.

"Hey guys, General said they're sending us with four stallions, one for our luggage, and the other for two riders each." I read from his lips. I nodded, picking up Tae's vocal cord vibrations. The youngest turned around, leading us to where our upper chain of command was waiting for us.

As soon as Tae and I approached, we both stood to attention and saluted the general. He returned the gesture. "At ease," he commanded. We both relaxed, and he continued. "Gentlemen, I am going to send you the files via ring. All the information I shared with you regarding the three individuals will be there. Please send a message each time you have collected one of them. Understood?" I mumbled out a "Yes general."

Soon after there was a vibration on my ring, showing me the files Kim had promised. I closed them out for the time being, then made my way to the carry-on horse as I liked to call her. "Hey there girl, you don't mind if I put my bag on you?" I asked while petting the beast. She butted her head, a signal of approval. I shrugged my bag off and carefully loaded it onto her. I petted her once more, "Good girl, you've grown so much, Jangmi." She head-butted me once more, and I smiled at the mare's affection.

She had been a luggage mare for over a year now and was used to my telepathy and understanding it, as it wasn't necessarily a certain language. I did know a little of the speaking language hearing people used, though I couldn't recall the name of it. Nor had that information proved important, considering how I mostly read lips and text.

Once I was done interacting with Jangmi, I went over to the general, "General, am I riding on Mal again?" Kim turned towards me.

"Yes, he's ready for you two stalls down."

"Thank you sir." I quickly made my way over to the biggest stallion we had.

"Hey there Mal, it's been a while hasn-" I was cut off when the beast came at me and almost knocked me over using just his head. I laughed wholeheartedly, "I missed you too big boy. C'mon let me get on you, we got a mission." He backed away, and I swiftly climbed onto him. I reached for the reins, then gently tapped my foot signaling for him to walk out of the stable.
