JEON J.

Between Jin's awful puns and Hoseok's half-hearted death threats, I was ready to stab somebody.

For some ungodly reason I had been left on babysitting duty while Kim and Min went out to have their adventure, and I knew it was because I was the newbie. They could claim it was because of my injuries all day long, but I knew they just didn't want the rookie coming along.

"If you don't shut the fuck up I'll set your ass on fire, mongrel," Hoseok spat from his corner.

"Calm down before you hurt yourself, hothead," Jin shot back, chuckling in spite of himself.

"If both of you don't shut the hell up for the gods' sake, I'll murder you," I grumbled, not even sparing them a look at this point. They sat there in silence for a moment before Hoseok opened his mouth to speak, and I slammed my hands on the edge of my chair as I stood and stalked over. "One. More. Word," I growled through gritted teeth, my face only inches away from the demigod's. "Say it."

He said nothing, instead spitting in my face. I drew my hand back and slapped him across the cheek, and I saw a spark ignite in his eyes.

"I'm out of this bitch," I said, dragging the chair he was tied to into the closet. "Stay in here," I growled, slamming the door behind me. "Seokjin, make sure he doesn't get out. I'm going to go see what's taking them so fucking long."

"You're leaving me here... alone?" he murmured, his voice quivering a little.

"You'll be fine, Jin. It shouldn't be too long," I assured him as I slipped out the door before he could protest further.

I paid no mind to the ugly looks and odd stares I got as I passed the civilians on the street. I was on a one track mind, deadset on finding where the others had gone. As I stormed down the street, I realized that I hadn't the slightest clue where to start. I paused and surveyed my surroundings, my focus settling upon a woman with a kind face and rosy cheeks. Her body was slender and feminine, and her earlobes were adorned gemstones.

"Excuse me ma'am," I called, raising a hand in a vague gesture for her attention.

The young woman turned her head to look at me, seeming completely unfazed by my appearance. "Yes?"

My breath caught in my throat as she spoke. She had a beautiful voice, almost musical in tone but soft and luring as well. She was an average height for a woman, and had long beautiful hair that shone and rippled like the sand of a beach on a windy day. Her eyes were a deep grey, turbulent like the sea. Her clothes were simple but different from those of the other villagers. They were clean and vibrant and more modern in fashion than the drab, cheap pigments that the locals wore.

I shook my head and attempted to regain my composure, stuttering as I spoke. "I, uh," I cleared my throat, "have you seen a couple of guys about my age around here? One's a brunette and the other is blond with pointy ears." I used my fingers to draw points on my own ears, and the lady seemed unamused. "They were dressed like me," I added.

She pondered my question for a second, trying to recall the people she probably passed by. After a few moments, she focused back on me. "Hm, not that I can think of. Though I may have seen a couple young men like that in regular clothing," she mused, running an hand through her hair. "The brunette was wearing slippers to walk through the village, and I remember thinking that was odd."

"Could you tell me where they went?"

Her facial expression morphed into something odd before being replaced by a tense smile. "Sorry honey, I can't recall."

I frowned to myself, and though I hated the idea of using my ability unless I had to I decided that it had to be done.

I exhaled through my nose, keeping eye contact with the woman as I released a tiny bit of the pheromone. Not enough to scare her, just enough to make her nervous so she'd spill. I moved in a little closer, brushing my fingers across her shoulder. "Are you sure about that?" I murmured. "Surely you remember something about where they went."
