Once Min hauled the unconscious Demi onto his horse, we were off to the nearby village.
Leaux was known for being one of the few places in the world that still had a supply of clean water. It also had a thriving economy fueled by waterside tourism; however, it also had been shown to have the highest rates of discrimination against mutants and Demi’s both in the workplace and in general society of the entire Eastern sector. I knew we would have our work cut out for us.
I had convinced Kim to carry me with him so I could stay in rabbit form, so Seokjin had taken control of my horse.
He was struggling.
Hard.
"Seokjin you have to center your weight!" I called as he started sliding off one side yet again."Hold onto the reins, but don't pull or she'll start fighting!"
"Do you have any idea how weird it is to have a bunny yelling at you about proper equestrian technique?" he yelled back.
"If you'd do it right in the first place I wouldn't have to yell at you!"
"Ladies."
Seokjin looked at Min, “You can't even hear us.”
“Your jaw is tensed and I can sense loud vibrations coming from Jungkook’s little bunny body.”
I flattened my ears and glared at Min, who paid me no attention. “Fine then. Go ahead and fall and injure yourself. Good luck getting medical care,” I grumbled to myself, tucking myself under Kim’s arm.
“You’re ridiculous,” Kim said, not looking away from the path in front of us.
“I’m just trying to make sure he doesn’t kill himself,” I defended. “And I’m injured, you’d better be nice to me.” I licked my paws and started scrubbing at my head.
“Jeon you’re kidding!” Kim said incredulously, this time looking down at me. “You’re bathing yourself under my arm!”
“Hey, gotta do what I gotta do.”
“Friendly reminder that if I wanted children I would have had them already,” Min growled in our heads.
Kim turned to the eldest soldier while sticking up his middle finger. “Bitch.”
Silence stirred between us for a while. To be honest, it was a blessing from the gods. Hoseok hadn’t stopped yelling and screaming since I woke up, and Jin kept making science jokes as much as he breathed.
I decided to break the silence; I had a question I was dying to ask.
“Hey Kim?”
“Hmm?”
“Why are you always full of sass?”
“I will not hesitate to throw your ass into next millennia.”
“Ooh, spicy. But seriously, why are you and Min always so curt in conversations?”
He sighed and took a moment to respond, never looking anywhere else but ahead. “We went through a lot growing up. Especially him. I won’t tell you his business because it’s not my place and believe it or not but I respect him.”
I was honestly puzzled from his response.
“No offense Taehyung, but exactly what hardships did you go through? All the mortals I've come across had it well off. And usually your kind doesn’t join the military unless they flunk out of school.”
