In my dream I was being crushed. I had no idea how I got where I was, but I was stuck under a landslide, and I could feel my air being cut off. There was an immense weight on my chest, and my throat felt tight. My right arm was pinned to the ground by a massive rock, but my left was free.
I was pushing against the weight, trying with everything I had to make it move. It was a mountain, steady and crushing. For one second I managed to relieve the pressure on my throat and scream out, and in that second I was no longer asleep under a mountain. I was awake, in my bed, with a man sitting on my chest, pinning my right arm with his knee. The tightness of my throat had been his hands wrapped around it. I had somehow knocked them loose with my left arm, which I assume the man hadn't pinned properly.
I wanted to call him incompetent. He couldn't even murder me properly, after all. His insistence of cutting off my airway stopped that remark, however. I let out another scream, this time as loud as my already bruised throat would allow.
There was a crash from the direction of my living room, and then my door sprung open and a man much smaller than the one on top of me was flying through the air, almost like a ballerina. My attacker was unseated by Jaehyun's flying body, and I quickly pushed myself out of the bed, landing hard on the floor. My knee would be bruised from that.
There was a struggle on the other side of my bed, and a resulting unmistakable bang that echoed in my head like a scream in the middle of a canyon.
Jaehyun stood, silhouetted by the moonlight through my open window. A deep, dark red color splattered the walls and across his face. I was scared, entirely terrified, when he took a step towards me. It took me a minute to calm down. Jaehyun was here to protect me. I had no reason to be frightened of him.
He squatted down in front of me, hands hovering a few inches from my arms as if he was afraid to touch my shaking figure.
"Eve, we need to go," He softly insisted.
I nodded, mouth hanging open in shock. Before I could even get my body off of the floor Jaehyun was moving around, throwing what he could into a bag he had found in my closet. We had to leave. I wasn't safe in my own apartment anymore, and that was abundantly clear.
He was on the phone. I guess he was calling one of the guys to come and pick us up. We wouldn't be able to take everything with us, but I hoped that someone would come back to get it. Someone had to come back, anyway. For the body.
It was less than 10 minutes from the time that I woke up to when we were out of the door and getting into a car. Doyoung was driving again, and from the direction that we were traveling I knew we weren't headed to the office building. They must have some sort of house, then.
I started out the window at the shadows as we drove, wondering what else was hiding there.
